Picture goes black still have sound- turn off and unplug wait a minute turn back on and picture comes back for a few minutes then goes black again
Could be the signal board has a bad cap, in this case it sounds like you are getting intermitten power to the inverters....when the tv goes down and of course you have audio....Shine a flashlight on to screen and see if you have a picture...look carefully. If this is the case..you have the above problem!

You will need to locate the power supply. A bad capacitor will have a bulge on the top of it. (No need for special test equipment in your case.) There could be one or more capacitors. I have not repaired this model of TV. If it is the small TV of less than 26", chances are the power supply will have bulging capacitors yes, yes, yes,. And replacing capacitors will repair your TV.
