Suggest running a rinse cycle once or twice, if this does not help, try mixing one or two table spoons of baking soda into 500 ml - liter of warm water and wipe down the interior of your dishwasher.

After wiping down, run the rinse cycle again before attempting a normal wash.

Try to avoid washing pans with glassware, as some coatings ( that may be dishwasher safe ) have a tendency to react with the detergent, thus creating an unclean smell on other utensils, plates or glass.

Wash pans on their own, or in a conventional sink.

Will the vinegar solution help in my enclosed patio area?

* Disinfectant? Wash with 1/2 cup bleach to 1 gal water. Splash of detergent optional. Mop and scrub with solution. Wipe down with damp cloth. Scrub in dirty areas. Kills mold, moss, germs, organic orders (you know, the smelly stuff.)
* Reduce order? Same wash as above but less bleach. 1/4th cup or less. Splash of fragrant detergent or dish soap.
* Note; DO NOT mix bleach and Mr. Clean or Ammonia! Toxic gas produced.
* Hard white deposits? (Calcium) Yes, white vinegar poured directly on calcified areas and let sit (it should foam up) use weaker solution for water spots. (3 parts water 1 part vinegar. Wipe dry and follow up with a detergent wash to eliminate vinegar smell.
* There are store products that will take care of water spots on specific surfaces. IE Stainless steel, Ceramic, Stone counters, etc.
* Check with local hardware store for specific advice.

Good care equals good results

Making great sauces, dips, dressings and chopping yummy veggies or crumble bread and other foods, rather than buying them already made, is fun and satisfactory, but, as usual, the less pleasant part is when it's time to clean up.

How can you keep a food processor, chopper or dicer clean and ready to be used again?

First of all it's important to take apart the whole of the machine, separating all the smaller parts so to clean them thoroughly and remove food residues.
They should all be washed with warm water and soap and not scrubbed too hard.

The blades should not be soaked in water, rather be gently washed and wiped down right after usage, to preserve them.
Another way for cleaning the blades without cutting yourself is by using nylon brushes.

Most removable parts can also be washed in the top rack of the dishwasher.

To clean the base or motor part, all you need is a damp cloth to wipe it down and remove stains. If done right after use the stains shouldn't resist. If they do, a baking soda paste should do the job, or a bit of soap wiped on the stain and removed with the cloth or a damp paper towel.

After all the parts are clean and dry you can reassemble the machine and store it away. Make sure that all the parts are throughly dried to prevent bacteria growth or damage.

So what if your processor/chopper/dicer is smelly?
An easy solution for a smelly machine is to mix baking soda and water at a 1 to 1 ratio and leave it in the bowl of the machine for 10-15 minutes. This will absorb odors and leave your machine smelling clean again.

The clean light came on and I cannot find my manual to find out how to clen it. Plaeas help

Always turn coffeemaker OFF and remove the plug from the electrical outlet before cleaning. Lift up the reservoir cover. Remove and discard the paper filter and ground coffee. The filter basket can be washed in warm, soapy water and rinsed thoroughly, or cleaned in the upper rack of the dishwasher. Dry all parts after use. Do not put any water in the unit once the filter basket has been removed. Wipe the area under the filter basket with a damp cloth. Remove the carafe from the heating plate. Discard any remaining coffee. The carafe and lid can be washed in warm, soapy water and rinsed thoroughly, or placed in a dishwasher. The carafe and carafe lid should be placed on the upper rack only. Do not use any scouring agents or harsh cleansers on any part of the coffeemaker. Never immerse base unit in water or other liquid. To clean base, simply wipe with a clean, damp cloth and dry before storing. Fingerprints and other blemishes on the stainless steel housing can be washed off with soap and water or a nonabrasive cleaning solution. Wipe warming plate with a clean, damp cloth. Never use rough, abrasive materials or cleansers to clean the warming plate. Do not dry the inside of the water reservoir with a cloth, as lint may remain.

What causes a film to be left on glasses after being washed in dishwasher?

If you have hard water, glasses can look spotted and cloudy even after cleaning. Sometimes changing the dishwasher detergent can help. The easiest solution to clearing up glasses that start to look cloudy is toadd some vinegar to the bottom of the dishwasher before you start a cycle. Simply add 1 cup of white vinegar and it will clear up your glasses very well.
You should see marked improvement after the first time you do this. If they are not crystal clear then simply repeat the process until all of the cloudiness is gone. In fact I recommend to using a little vinegar in each cycle to maintain the clarity of the glass.

Note: you can pre-test this by rubbing some vinegar on an individual glass with a cloth. If you cannot remove the cloudiness by soaking it and rubbing vinegar on it then it is possible that the glass is etched due to harsh or cheap dishwasher detergent and vinegar will not solve the problem.

Glasses smell like fish. I run hot water first just to make sure hot goes in right away . Please help

Any store which sells dishwasher powder/tablets will usually sell dishwasher cleaner as well.

It comes as either a sachet of powder (treat with caution as it's very corrosive) or as a bottle of liquid which you place inverted in the machine. The machine heats up, melts the wax plug in the bottle cap (remember to remove the protective label first) and allows the cleaner to do it's job. The liquid type has a small advantage in that by unscrewing the cap on top you can pour a small amount onto a cloth (wear protective gloves) and use it to clean around the door and the door seals.

Make sure before running the cleaner that you have cleaned out the debris traps inside the machine so that there's no food debris left to feed the bacteria which cause smelly dishwashers. Afterwards, always leave the door ajar between loads.

Smelly dishes

The problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.

Glasses Smell after Washing

if you are using the heater to dry them .. have you ever washed anything plastic that may have melted onto the heater element? You might try flushing the dishwasher with white vinegar and then run a set of glasses in the energy efficient mode ( no heater to dry them)..just air dried.. See if any of these ideas rid the chemical smell you have observed... Hope this helps///
