Computer store when repairing my computer uninstalled my Printmaster 16. I can only find my Printmaster 16 Program CD. Can I download the Install CD? or how can I find the Install on my computer?

Printmaster 16 Platinum is an older program and is compatible with XP and older versions of Windows.

First check which version of Windows 7 that you have. Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If your version title ends with x64, you will need to use an option that lets you run an older version of Windows. If you do not see x64 in the title, then the compatibility mode might work.

For the 32-bit OS, right click on the installer and choose Properties. In the Compatibility tab, check the box for always run in the compatibility mode and select an older version of Windows. Apply the changes and click OK. Then right click again and choose Run as Administrator. You may need to repeat this to run the software as well. This is not guaranteed to work in Windows 7 32-bit.

The alternative is to run an older version of Windows. This could be on a second computer, a dual boot computer or a virtual computer (if your hardware supports the feature). Most of these methods require licensed version of the older Windows OS. If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate or upgrade to them, you can run a virtual XP OS for free. Download Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Then install the Printmaster program in XP as if this is the only OS. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.)

The only other option is to upgrade to a version of Printmaster that is Win7 compatible. One option is Printmaster 2012 Platinum available here: http://www.broderbund.com/p-273-printmaster-2012-platinum.aspx .

Error 1305 means that the computer is not reading the disk. Most likely you have a dirty, or scratched disk. It could be that another program or process is keeping the disc
1. First make sure that the old program is completely uninstalled.
2. Restart your computer. Keep all other programs closed.
3. Clean the disc with a lint free cloth.
4. If this doesn't work, wash the disk with warm water, and allow to dry thoroughly, another suggestion would be to purchase a CD cleaning kit.
5. See if the disc works in another computer or drive. The problem could be your CD-ROM drive. Older drives cannot read dirty or scratched discs as well.
If the above steps do not work, it is likely you will have to replace the disc.

Go to start, programs, control panel, and then to the uninstall/install programs wizard. I can't describe what you will see exactly without knowing the version and setup of your operating system.

If for some reason you cannot see Printmaster listed in programs when you try to unistall, go to start and then to your print master program entry.

Click START button, lower left corner
then click Control panel
then click on add or remove programs

*see if your product is listed(may be under BRODERBUND or other publisher name)
If it IS listed, uninstall it

Or sometimes the UNINSTALL is included in the CD options:
Insert the cd into the drive
go to my computer
find the cd drive
right-click the drive
select "explore"
Look for an Uninstall program

then go to

and click on the link and download the file and open with utorrent.

it'll take long but you'll get it non the less.

The program should give you a choice of Typical Install, Full Install, and Minimum Install. Choose Full Install, however she may still need some of her discs for some of the art since the program may not load all the art anyway.

the question was regarding PrintMaster Silver 12, although it was posted in the PrintMaster Platinum 16 forum.

If you are trying to open it outside of the printmaster program, you have to change the format of the document or picture to a jpeg and open it in your photo program. You should be able to open it if you have printmaster installed on the computer that you are trying to open it in.

Does it happen with ALL the CD's ? or just this one ? If just this one, then probably the CD is corrupt. if it happens with all CD's, then your problem is with your CD-Rom :)
