Startup of new Toshiba 32in LCD TV

Fitting the Scart and Coax cables from the old, working TV to a new Toshiba 32'' LCD TV results in the display showing ''No video signal''. Bypassing the VCR and DVD player by connecting the Coax direct to the aerial wall socket gives the same result. Can you help?

It is repairable but at least consider there is a faster solution--if you have cable or sat for signal the set has rear connections other than the coax fitting that a cable or sat box will hook up to....there are ways to get around the cable fitting that is broken.

There is no input for a coaxial cable on the tv, meaning there would have to some sort of converter box, such as a cable box, to intervene between the cable and the tv. Is there another way of doing this...

Everything with a scart / AV output will work when there is a tuning system inside.
For example a DVD recorder or a videorecoder.
The best is a DVD recoder with HDMI connector because it;s a HD TV.

My 32 inch LCD tv does not seem to work with my new cable box (digital) that I just traded in to get my cable bill down. Where does the coax go on the tv?

For best result when using digi use the scart lead that should have come with the box ~ You should have at least 3 scart sockets on the back of your tv. any 1 will do - then all tv will run through the av channel that should come on auto. when digi box is turned on.

I have a 47'' phillips lcd flat screen, will my tuner work without using cable box(timewarner) and still pickup all the channels

If the TV tuner has digital connection with HDMI, or th white red and yellow connectors for RCA cable, it will work with the new TV.

If the tuner has only coax round antenna-like connector, then it will not work with TV tuner.

Many new TV also do not have scart cable connector, but adapters Scart to RCA are available.

Magnavox 15" LCD TV

If the LCD only has coax, it will never display a HD picture quality. However, the Comcast HD Box will still display a picture using the coax connection. So, you could watch any HD channel, but the picture quality will not be high definition.
