Here are two resource pages which hopefully will help. The first is Palm support page with an update to download for users of Outlook 2003. The second is a discussion thread of Treo users troubleshooting the same problem. Even if the PDA is different, the issue (and error code) is practically the same, Rather than cut and paste what I think is relevant, read the thread and see if one of the solutions listed helps you.

Let us know how you make out.

PS - What PDA, operating systems (PC and PDA) and version of Outlook are you using?

Problem Hot Synching Mail with new version of Outlook

You will need to Uninstall your old Software and Reinstall the new. If yours is like mine, You will come to a page that says "Regular" or Custom" Install. You need to select Custom and will later see two choices for Outlook or Palm.

The instructions are unclear in the Palm Help.) Took me ages to find the above Even following the instructions by adding the Note in Pocket Mirror with the new handheld name I still get the same error as you and so GOOD LUCK!

How do I fix my Outlook Calendar synchronization problem?

Palm tech fixed my problem. It turned out some items in Outlook Calendar were corrupted, thus preventing a synch with LifeDrive. The fix is to export the Calendar items and import them. This process fixes corruption. After doing that I successfully synchronized Calendar with LifeDrive. More specifically. I moved Calendar items to a different folder, thus emptying the main Calendar folder. I exported the Calendar items in the new folder to a CSV (Windows) file. Then, I imported that CSV (Windows) file into the main Calendar folder. Finally,I did a synch and all worked perfectly.

Can't synch Outlook Calendar Appointments

Try uninstalling with Windows Uninstall Clean-up tool. XP seems to do a poor job of installing conduits sometimes. I think this might be an issue with the one conduit no being registered correctly in the Windows Registry. You can get this tool here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=290301 Uninstall Palm Desktop. Then shut down the PC. Then start it up again and re-install Palm Desktop. I hope this helps.

Problem syncing with two computers

The HotSync Manager was not designed to work this way. While it may seem like a good idea to do what you are doing, I would never consider doing it. HotSync was designed to be a one-to-one relationship between a set of data on your PC and a set on your handheld. You are giving contrary messages to each PC by using it this way. If you synch to an exchange server (via your Outlook account) you can get away with doing this because PocketMirror or the palmOne Outlook conduits and other conduits have settings you can make to notify HotSync that you are 'two-timing' :-). However if you synch to Outlook in work and then to Palm Desktop at home (I suspect this is your scenario), I disrecommend this. I recommend setting the Home PC to be a slave. That is, I set the conduits at home to be handheld overwrites desktop for the four personal information conduits - Calendar, Contacts, To Dos and Memos. Then when I am at home if I want to change some data, I add it to the handheld not on the PC. That way you have a kosher set of data that is up to date on the handheld and on your work PC. When you synch to the home PC, this data is cloned to the home PC from the handheld. You can continue as you are but you will always have some uncertainty on your data integrity. Losing precious contacts or not showing up for a key appointment is a bad deal.

Could not read the next message from the desktop mail system's inbox

PocketMirror does not control mail synch. It's a common misconception that Chapura PocketMirror synchronizes email. It only synchs Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes from Outlook. The Mail or VersaMail conduit from palmOne is responsible for email synch. It sounds to me like you have a bad record or two in your inbox. You could try moving all your current inbox messages to a temporary folder to see if this breaks the log jam. Then you can start to hunt for the bad one by replacing them in portions and re-synching.

Error Message - "Unsupported Repeat Pattern"

I think the message means what it says. You will have to setup these events manually as individuals to get this event to synch. The message is literally telling you that this repitition style is supported by Outlook but not by the Calendar in your handheld. Another way to go might be to use Chapura PocketMirror conduits instead. It may be more forgiving and be able to deal with this event type. This will cost you however to find out.
