Remove toe kick on bottom of fridge, should be some screws on both sides. tray slides out, maybe not all the way dont force, there is a float mechanism that will stop it from coming out all the way, use some paper towels or rags to soak up the stagnant water, this pan should have a heater hooked up to it to evaporate the water, the installer should have hooked this up on installation, they dont hook it up at the factory to get a better EER out the factory door, just trace back to the pan and hook up any unplugged wires going to it, good luck

How do I get to the drip tray on a Samsung American fridge freezer? Awful cheesy smell so think it's that...

  1. Consult the owner's manual for the location of the drip tray.
  2. Gently attempt to remove the piece under the doors to see if the drip tray is located there.
  3. Some Samsung refrigerator drip trays are accessible only from the rear.
  4. Reply with the model number for more assistance.

My Westinghouse fridge freezer, model WSE6100SF, was affected by a power cut lasting 3 days. It now smells, but not inside. Is there a drip tray under the fridge that collects the water?

yes there is but most are not removeable.... remove the cover in the rear of the fridge, the pan is located around the fan motor that's underneath the fridge... I would try pinesol, bleach or odoban to kill the smell..... good luck

Fridge is clean but has a nasty smell coming out from the back

There may be a tray under the fridge that collects any water from defrosting . It usually evaporates from the compressor fan blowing over it . Remove lower front cover and back cover to access and clean this tray. Unplug unit before attempting this just to be safe. Hope this helps.

Cva 4070 drip tray issue

Miele CVA 4066 -Empty drip tray warning would not go off even after draining the drip tray, cleaning contacts, and resetting power. Water was coming out from under the empty tray.
I pulled unit out and removed sheet metal in rear around water inlet. when I attached water line and power cord & turned on power, I could see water dripping out of one of the 2 solonoids on the water inlet valve. $168.00 from Miele and no expensive service call.

How do I remove the plastic drip tray from behind my Wesitnghouse Aurora Fridge Freezer.

we had a really bad smell coming from the back of our westinghouse aurora. and yes found it to be emanating from drip tray at the back. To remove this we had to undo 4 clips at the base of black motor thingy, that the plastic drip box sits on. Then we were able to lift whole thing a bit ,(10mm up and 50mm out, approx) so we could tilt everything forward and sweeze and wiggle tray out. then cleaned with bleach. also we unblocked hole inside fridge that allows water to drip into drip tray at back.

Milk which was spilled in the fridge has dripped into the drip tray behind the fridge and has created the most awful smell. Can the tray be removed for cleaning and if so how?

Yes, usually the tray can be removed for cleaning. You will have to pull the fridge out, unplug power, remove the rear access cover. Then you should see the evaporator / condensate tray and how to remove it.

It has a nasty smell like diesel fuel in the freezer but it works fine.

Your cooling unit may have a leak, and you are smelling the coolant, though normally this would be ammonia.

You may have food that is spoiling as well. Check the condensate / drip tray at the back of the fridge (inside). Look for water building up (likely green as well). If water is not draining, clean the hose that leads from the drip tray to the exterior back of the fridge. There will be a small evaporator cup / tray that the hose empties into. Check the end of the hose for insect activity. Note that it is normal for the end to be crimped, or it may have a plastic plug (perforated) inserted as well.

We have a Meile fridge freezer and the smell seems to be coming from the back (no smell inside)It has been a constant smell but occasionaly gets worse. It has taken us a week to find out that its coming...

Self de-frosting tray at the back of the fridge was full of old stagnent water. Removed tray cleaned out, flushed out the pipe from the inside of the fridge to the drip tray. No more smell.

Nasty smell in garage.....think its coming from refrigerator

It's either the drip tray which is removeable from the front, or, mice are playing in the drip tray under the compressor. Soak in up, rinse with some ammonia water & repeat a few times. Rinse well when done. Line up some sticky traps behind the fridge. The mice found a playground amd they will return.
