Re Baumatic BK6EL, the washer stops at the beginning of the spin cycle, showing soak, extra rinse, spin lights all on. Thinking it was just an unbalanced load, I readjust the load and press the start button and it then starts the wash cycle again and again. Help

Hi Same problem but easy to fix.
Remove back cover of machine. Look to the lower end of the bowl and you will notice a stainless steel wire with hook attached. If this is hanging loose that will be your problem. Reattach the hook to the grey coloured lever , it has a hole drilled through it at the extremity. The wire pulls on this lever to disengage the drum brake during the spin cycle.

The wire on my machine is attached to the lever that disengages drum brake but the wire is not pulling the lever back. Any ideas?

Probably the worst washing machine manual I have ever read!

Try this.

Put your wollens in the machine, set for cold water, Woollens Cycle and your 'Soak' detergent. It will agitate a bit, and as soon as it stops filling, turn it off.

After say 20 minutes. Then Move the dial to Spin, and pull the knob out. It _should_ pump out and spin.

Machine stopping prior to rinse cycle, not draining.

Hi Jackie, more than likely you have a timer control failure. It's an easy fix if you have money and can afford a repair man to fix the problem. It's a lot better plan if you have friends with a few skills. Just need to enter model number of your washer on ebay and ask for a replacement timer. It is behind the cycle control knob on your washer. Invite a couple friends over for a cookout and repair your washer. Don't have any friends? If close enough will be glad to help. Simple fix, have fun, good experience. Stan

Kenmore washer will not go into the Rinse cycle. I just purchased the washer, and whenever it is ready to begin the rinse cycle, it stops. I even let it go, thinking that it may need a few minute to...

Is this washer new or did you by it used? If you bought it used, then the problem is likely with the lid switch. If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Error code E:13 is showing on the washer

Mine did it too on a light load. Set to reduced spin and rinse spin and everything ok. Think this code shuts washer down when spinning out of balance to protect damaging the unit.

Bosch washer spin only

Had a repair man here for the same issue. Learned two things:

1. Too much detergent causes 'soap lock.' The electronics will get confused when there's too many suds left after a rinse and shut the spin cycle down. That's why re-running the entire cycle without more detergent solves the problem. Use less detergent.

2. There is a way to manually get the spin cycle to run using diagnostics codes. Here's what my guy did:

a. Washer selection knob in OFF position.
b. Hold the 'Spin Selection' and 'Delay Start' buttons down at the same time.
c. While holding those two buttons, turn the Washing selector knob to Permanent Press-Cold.
d. Keep the buttons held down until the LCD control panel reads 'P:01'
d. Release buttons.
e. Use the 'Spin Selection' button to cycle thru the codes. Stop when it reads 'P:04' which is the spin cycle.
f. Press 'Start/Pause' button to begin the spin cycle.

I don't know what the other codes do but this should save you from having to run the entire wash cycle.

Hope that helps! Tim

70 series Kenmore washer

POWERUP, YOUR WASHER COULD BE THE LID SWITCH OR THE COLD WATER VALVE. AT THE END OF THE WASH CYCLE, THE MOTOR WILL SPIN OUT THE WATER, BUT ONLY IF THE LID SWITCH IS ACTUATED. IF THE SWITCH IS BAD, IT WILL NOT SPIN OUT THE WATER AND THE TIMER WILL NOT ADVANCE FROM THAT POINT.
IF THE WASHER SPINS, THE NEXT STEP IS TO FILL WITH WATER FOR THE RINSE CYCLE. MOST WASHERS USE COLD WATER FOR RINSES. IF THE COLD WATER VALVE IS RESTRICTED OR FAULTY, THE WASHER WON'T FILL. IF THE WASHER WON'T FILL, THE WATER LEVEL SWITCH WON'T ACTIVATE AND THE TIMER WON'T ADVANCE TO THE NEXT STEP.
