This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

Whirlpool / Kenmore top load, direct drive washers use a number of springs between the main suspension plate and base assembly as well as friction pads that are designed to minimize shaking.

See the Whirlpool / Kenmore service manual for top load washers.

It's likely that one of the springs or pads has broken or come off.

See the following for how to remove the cabinet to get at these.

My Midea washer spins violently in spin cycle. Please help!

It sounds like there may be an issue with the balance of your washer. When a washer is out of balance, it can spin violently and cause the machine to reset. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Make sure the washer is level: Use a spirit level to check if the washer is level. If it is not, adjust the legs until it is.
  2. Distribute the load evenly: Make sure the load inside the washer is distributed evenly. This will help to keep the washer balanced during the spin cycle.
  3. Check for foreign objects: Make sure there are no foreign objects in the drum or the drum's seal, which may cause the washer to vibrate.
  4. Check the suspension: Inspect the suspension system, which supports the drum and keeps it in balance. If the suspension is damaged or worn out, it will need to be replaced.
If the problem persists, it's best to contact the manufacturer or a professional technician for further assistance.

My washer shakes violently sometimes during the start of spin cycle, not that bad sometimes. could it be springs worn or unbalanced load ,, maybe feet are not evenly level?

Most likely an unbalanced load especially when it improve during the spinning cycle. When it happens stop the cycle immediately and re position the garments evenly in the drum. If this eliminates the shaking it proves that the load was unbalanced if not the springs must be checked for the possibility that one might be unhooked. Check also if all the feet are making contact to the floor by grabbing the loader at the top and trying to rock it in any direction. If there is movement the feet need to be adjusted until thee is no movement possible at all.

My washer shakes real bad when spinning and makes a rumbling noise

You washer drum is running eccentric and so there is violent action while it is spinning in the cycles of wash and spin.
The fault gets unbalanced when the spinning cycle is ON as the clothes loose the weight of water and needs a stabilizing with a damper/suspension system.
Hence a fault in the suspension of the drum can be the element of fault. You will need to check if there is friction in drive system, check for free movement of the shaft.
Make sure the dampers are not faulty if so replace.
Finally check if the spring suspensions have gone out of the frame , changed or shifted. If so realign the springs to have the drum in the center.

Kenmore he2 washer shakes violently

Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.

Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.

Replace/repair as necessary.

Shakes violently in the spin cycle

hi...
the reason it shakes violently is because
1)Most noisesfrom a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loudthumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have becomeunbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-startit. Repeat these steps if necessary.

or else the other reason may be

2) If your washer doesn't spin or agitate on either the delicate or regular cycle, check these:

Selector switch
Clutch assembly
Drive motor
Selector switch Ifyour washer has a selector switch on the control panel, make sure thebutton for your selection is pressed all the way in, or set properly.

Clutch assembly ManyGE®/Hotpoint® washers use a clutch and an automatic shift lever. Thisassembly is quite complicated. If there's a problem with it, youprobably should contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

Drive motor manywashing machines have multiple-speed drive motors. Though it'suncommon, the drive motor may work fine on one speed but not onanother. If the drive motor has failed on one speed, you need toreplace the entire motor.

On something like this you will need to
remove the washer wrap toinspect the suspension springs & base assembly. Be sure the shippingpins have been removed. The tub should float freely.

I think my solution would have helped you...rate for me if it is been useful.....thank you for using fixya....

Kenmore washer shakes violently during spin cycle

syrny,

Not sure what you did, exactly. First, does the machine shake when spun empty...and then with water only? If so, you have probably failed to tighten something or misaligned something. Go over your work.

No shakes? Rearrange your load. You may have a pair of heavy wet jeans which is throwing the whole thing out of kilter. It only takes about a half pound of sodden clothing to do this.
