My Bella coffee maker will not come on when I plug it into the electric outlet.

If you're sure the outlet has power :) Bella does offer a 2 year warranty. Otherwise this particular model cleared out at a lot of retail outlets under $15 so it might just be time to replace. Most simple drip coffee makers are easy to repair, but the cost of repair exceeds replacement cost, ergo...

Electric perculator plug

The common peoblem with these types of heating devices (coffee makers etc) is that the female portion of the plug gets hot over time and becomes loose. As it gets looser in heats up because of the bad electrical connection. Your only option is to buy another plug and cord. Attempting to repair is not feasible, and can actually have negative effects, like causing a fire or a electrical spark. You can find a lot of replacement parts on line by goggling your model number. Good luck to you....

Delonghi EC270 won't work.

Bad power cord or a Shorted heater in the coffee pot. Try swapping the cord, if you can't or still trips the breaker, it is time for a new coffee maker.

The unit brews coffee OK. About 2-3 times per hour, the brewing element turns on and bubbles for a few minutes. This annoys me. Will it shorten the life of the coffee maker? It has done this since it was...

Hi. The pot is turning itself on because the thermostat is telling it to do so, because the coffee in the pot is getting cold. You might try feeling the surface under the pot is sitting on to see if it is hot. if it is not hot the keepwarm element is not working, if so get rid of it and but a heavy duty coffee maker ( Bunn ) It does not pay to repair them because the fright to and fro, plus the cost of the repair. Probably made in China. Good luck. bobbyone

3 prong plugs becoming loose

Hi, You have a pot that was made in China. to fix the problem you have you have to replace the base. You can try to get one at Goodmens.com or Repair Shop.com. The China pot is very very inferior to the USA pots. I suggest buying a USA pot on eBay. The China pot is like owning a boat. Good luck . Ron

Cord heats up electric percolator when it makes coffee. What is the problem?

It is not unusual for this to happen - particularly near the ends (the plug end and the coffee pot end). This happens due to one or more of the following: at the coffee pot end the heating element inside the pot is actually transferring to the cord connector and the cord, where it is exposed to room temperature air and is cooled down. The cord shouldn't be warm more than a couple inches from the end. At the outlet end and the pot end: can be caused by weakened contacts inside the outlet itself. Repeated plugging and unplugging cords during an outlet's normal service eventually causes the spring of the contact metal to fatigue. The weakened contacts do not "grip" the prongs of the plug, so the power needed by the pot has less area to pass between the outlet and the prongs of the plug. You only notice it on the high power devices such as toasters, hair dryers, etc.

You might consider replacing the outlet and seeing if the problem is reduced or goes away. In the case of the pot, the spring metal contacts are usually in the cord connector. Replacement of the cord should solve the heat problem in this case.

My Survival Guide To The Dreaded Err2 Disaster

An ERR 2 may be cleared by a simple reset of the coffee maker. This means unplugging the unit and plugging it back in. When powered back on, select a brew function to see if the error reappears.

If it does, ERR 2 indicates an internal error with the computer of the warming plate. This may be covered under Kitchenaid's 1 Year Hassle Free Warranty. I would advise you to call Kitchenaid Customer Service to see what options are available to you. Repair is not recommended, as it is not cost effective for the company or the consumer.

Their toll-free telephone number is 1-800-541-6390.
Thank you, have a nice day.
