What you probably have to do is configure it. there is probably an option to configure the two together. its like bluetooth you cant just turn it on and expect that it automatically works with your phone you have press buttons.

Did you connect the base station to a land line or ADSL, and plug it in to the mains?
Did you plug in the line in plug 1/2 and not in 2.
Does the base station blink in any way, when you press a button on the remote?
Your base station is dead, this is common with Uniden phones. You will need to purchase a new base station. You can use the new base station with existing phones as long as you buy a compatible model.
You need to make sure that you have an ADSL line filter connected before any home telephone or DECT base station (eg. a filter is required on the line between your physical telephone device and phone socket). This can also be achieved via a central ADSL phone line splitter.
---------- ADSL Filter -----> Telephone Handset 1 or DECT base station <--- main telephone line --/ \-----------------------------------> ADSL Modem/Router ---> Computer \----------ADSL Filter -----> Telephone Handset 2
Before you go spending money on an adapter, read the specs on the one you already have. I purchased my Creative Dect Phone in the US, but am currently using it in Macedonia. My adapter is able to work on both 110V and 220V.
1. Remove the battery.
2. Remove the power chord from base station.
3. Leave it idle for 2 hrs.
4. Put back battery, connect the power chord.
Magic . it worked.
I came here looking for a better solution than what I already have. Mine does the same thing at least a few times a day. First make sure that Skype logs you in automatically when your computer starts, second when the phone says disconnected, with the computer on, unplug the usb cable, wait for the phone to say "searching base" and then plug it back in. That usually solves it for me, hope it helps.
did she drop it? you can try this: ·1. remove all creative software from your pc (do this from start menu/settings/control panel/add or remove programs)
2. Uninstall Windows Media Player 11 and Windows Media Player 11 runtime. This will rollback the pc to an earlier version of WMP.
3. Download the latest version of the zen driver from this location: http://us.creative.com/support/downl...ame=Windows+XP
4. Make sure the zen is not connected to the pc and install run the exe file to install the software on your pc. at some point, the install will tell you that the unit is not connected. Connect the unit to proceed. it will also notify you that you are replacing an existing software, or something to that effect. I accepted or said OK to this popup. Once the firmware is installed, my started to work fine. You can now reinstall WMP from microsoft website. Hope this works for you. All else failes download the recovery tool from creatives website.
