I unable to receive faxes in hp 3050
Make sure you check to see how many rings the machine is set to answer on. For some reason, mine came set to 5 rings. Most fax machines stop trying before that. I set mine to 2 rings and viola!

Please make sure the machine is set for auto-receive in machine set up and make sure the phone cord is plugged into the line jack on the machine. If this machine is not on a dedicated phone line the machine (rings) should be set to pick up before the answering machine does.

Our hp 3050 all-in-one no longer communicates with my computer and incoming faxes no longer print. The HP ToolboxFX program won't start up, either.

I have a HP 3050 but it is not connected to any computer, strictly used for receiving and sending faxes. I can not receive any faxes comm error 232. I have checked all lines and they seem ok, the power light is on. What could be the problem?
