Hi maybi,

The evo's have two senarios that you may be facing.

First is Smark Cover locking. If you enable the Smart Cover Lock and cannot enter your password to disable the lock, you will need a Smart Cover FailSafe Key to open the computer cover.
You will need the key in any of the following circumstances:
Power outage
Startup failure
PC component (for example, processor or power supply) failure
Forgotten password,

If you don't have the Key, To obtain a FailSafe Key:
Contact an HP reseller or service provider.
Refer to the HP's Web site (www.HP.com) for ordering
information.
Call the appropriate number listed in the warranty.
To open the computer cover:
1. Turn off the computer and any external devices.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet, and disconnect
any external devices.
3. Using the Smart Cover FailSafe Key, remove the two
tamper-proof screws that secure the Smart Cover Lock to the
chassis.
4. Remove the Smart Cover Lock.
To reattach the Smart Cover Lock, secure the lock in place with the
tamper-proof screws

Or the non- Smart Cover Case:

1. åWARNING: Before removing the computer cover, ensure that the
computer is turned off and that the power cord is disconnected from the
electrical outlet.
2. Turn off the computer and any external devices.
3. Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet, and disconnect
any external devices.
4. Press in the button on each side of the front bezel to release the
quick release cover latches.
5. As you slide the computer cover forward, release the buttons and
allow them to return to the original position, then lift the cover up
and off the unit.
✎ To replace the cover, reverse this procedure.

The power led of my compact desktop is green lighted and it is not starting the psu is ok and even the cpu fan is not working

use other processor, their might be a possible cause that your processor was been busted due to your cpu fan is not working.
Even the psu is working but if it is not enough to supply a power to your system their is also a big chance that you cannot achieve display on your system, so better to try first other psu before purchasing a parts.
hope it helps thanks.

Driver for window 7 for HP Compact pentium 4 lga775 3ghz audio and video intel chipset

Hi,

Go to this page and download Windows 7 drivers from the links and try to install them. I think that this will solve the problem with the sound.
There is no support for Intel 845G for Windows 7. So I suggest to use XP drivers from this link.
Use Compatibility mode before starting the setup file. You can do that by right-click on the setup.exe ->choose Compatibility tab and select Windows 7 Compatibility.
After that run the setup.exe. I hope this will work. Good Luck!

Unlock Bios Compac evo

On most PCs you can open the BIOS by hitting while the computer is booting: Del, F10, F2, Alt+Enter, F1. These are the most common but if they don't work just hit keep hitting your different "F" keys each time you boot one of them should open the BIOS. If the BIOS is password protected you'll need to either remove the BIOS/CMOS battery or short out the reset jumper on the motherboard.
