If this is an electric range, it sounds like you have a bad bake element in the oven. The broiler and bake features each have their own heating element. Thats why the broiler still works. The following link explains how to replace a heating element in an electric range:

If the model range you have this question listed under is correct, the part number for a replacement element is WB44K5012. It lists for about $25 at pcappliancerepair.com.

If you have questions, or if the model number is not correct, please post back with your information so that I may be able to provide you with better assistance.. I hope you find this information helpful.

OVEN WILL NOT HEAT UP NEITHER DOES BROILER

Good Morning Debbie, I regret to hear that you are having difficulties with your oven not baking or broiling.

I see that your question is listed under a gas range. If so, here are some simple troubleshooting steps that may help you resolve this issue:

  • First, please disconnect power to your appliance!

  • Next, locate the gas pressure regulator (typically located on the back lower left-hand side of your range) and verify that the valve is in the "ON" position. If the valve is OFF, it causes to shut off gas to your oven.

  • Reconnect power to your range.
  • Set time and select bake or broil option.

Should this prove to be unsuccessful I suggest reaching out to an Authorized Service Technician.

Thank you again for allowing Frigidaire to assist you.

Stove top burners ignite, the broiler works, but when I try to bake, i get no heat

Is this a GAS range? Or an ELECTRIC range?

If this is a GAS range and the broiler is working, more than likely you have a worn igniter on the bake manifold that needs to be replaced. A glowing igniter does not necessarily mean it is good. The following link explains a little theory on how these igniters work and how to replace them:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575727-replacing_an_oven_igniter_on_a_gas_range

If this is an ELECTRIC range, more than likely the lower heating element for the oven (Bake) is defective and needs to be replaced. The following link explains how to replace a heating element on an electric range:

Since all the oven features on either a gas or electric range are controlled by the Electronic Range Control (ERC) board, and the broiler IS working, it may be safe to assume this is not a control board problem.

My broiler works - but the oven does not - GE Dual Fuel range

Thanks for providing the full model number, which allows us to look up part numbers and see exploded views of your product.
Most likely the bake ignitor is bad (even if it still glows, it may not draw enough amperage to allow the gas safety valve to open). One way you can test this on your model is to swap out the broil ignitor for the bake ignitor, as they are the same part number on your model. (part number WB13T10045) The broiler is normally used much less than the oven, so the part does not fail very often on the broiler. You will have to take the cover off the floor of the oven, then the flame spreader, to reach the burner area. The ignitor is the rectangular part at the back, on the side of the burner. (only two wires to deal with) (By the way, for future reference, your model number ends is SS, as in stainless steel, not a 55)

OVen doesn't Heat

More than likely, you have a bad igniter for the bake manifold. Since the gas range has a separate ignitor for the broiler, this explains why the broiler works and the bake function does not. Since most consumers tend to bake more often than broil, the bake ignitors go bad more frequently. There are a couple of different ignitor types listed for your range. I will need an EXACT model number (located somewhere around the oven door opening) before I would be able to give you a correct part number. The ignitor price varies between $52 - $64. If you wish to make the repairs yourself, I can give step by step instructions. Please post back with your information and I will be able to assist you further.
