Bravia KLV-S40A10 HDMI input

I just bought a PS3 and was looking forward to playing it in high definition. unfortunatly, sony, in their infinite wisdom, decided not to put an HDMI input on their Bravia KLV-S40A10. now it looks great on analog but i want the full hd experience. is there any way to get an hdmi input onto this tv. i feel like this is a longshot but any help would be much appreciated.

You know i did a bit of research and found out that the hdmi cables are not that much different then the analog component cable and isn't going to give me much better quality so i think i;ll just stick with the analog.

I agree with your solution and you are correct in that you lose very little quality by using component instead of HDMI. there are A/V receivers that transcode HDMI inputs to component; as far as I know that's the only other option

On my Sony Bravia KLV-S40A TV I have a message "VIDEO 1". How do I get it off the screen?

On the original SONY remote press display to remove that---if left on long enough it will actually burn that image into the screen--button on almost any Sony Tv remote will remove or clear it.

We have a Sony Bravia lcd tv model KLV-S40A10 - no power

Hi,the problem is from the fuse in the tv,it's blown and it's a means of in-built security against power fluctuations from damaging the unit,so the solution is to replace the fuse of the TV to restore your unit back to a normal working condition.

Be cool.

HDMI and other outputs doent work

You may want to try a Manufacture reset. To do this you must first turn the TV off. Press in sequence.. Display-->5-->Vol +-->power on your remote(this sequence must be done fast). This should bring up a service menu. Press the number 8 and then Enter on you remote, The set should go off and on by itself. Now go through your setup and try the input again.

Closed caption

There are external close caption boxes that you can add to your system. But be aware: many cable boxes do not process the close captioning information "through", forcing you to use the close captioning on the cable box.
