Xbox 360 plays movies fine but colour is wrong on games

My xbox 360 worked fine on old tv but have just hooked it up to new tv and although it plays dvd movies absolutely fine when I try and play a game or even when the system is on but there is no disc in the console it flashes colour to black and white in a very regular pattern (every couple seconds). Any ideas? is this a problem with the xbox, tv or scart plug? Thanks for any help

Check and recheck and triple check the av/hd cables. If you want to help isolate, try hooking up your xbox 360 to another tv and doesn't matter if it is hdtv or standard to test out. That method will give your answer quick to help isolate the problem. If you have hdtv make sure your adapter has the switch set for hdtv and not standard and then go in the xbox 360 dashboard system settings and see if it shows up for display. Good luck!!!

You can figure out real quick through isolution what the problem is and who to point the finger at. Go ahead and unplug your xbox 360 system and hook it up to another tv. It doesn't have to be hdmi, just a standard one can work fine so you can plug the yellow video, and two white/red audio cables in to test. If that works then you need to look at the ports on your tv or sound system as the source problem. Check the settings...it doesn't hurt to reset them and reconfigure. Also check the xbox system settings in the Dashboard and verify. That will get the ball rolling and get your solution asap. Good luck!!!

Xbox works fine but wont show up on the tv, sound is coming out but no video.

For, first time u should the following
play a movie using the Media Player for Xbox 360, a Windows firewall warning will appear
Note: This is due to the Xbox 360 playing the movies over the network.
Simply click the "Unblock" button on the window that appears (see below) and the
movie will play fine, i think so. You only have to cancel this warning once.

I installed a new disk drive on my xbox 360, now all it will play is DVD movies and no games. Whats wrong?

You can't just swap drives .You must remove the P.C. board from
the old drive and instal/hook it up in the new drive also the drive must be
same make /model. If your drive stoped reading games you more than likely just needed to replace the laser , much easier and cheaper too.

Xbox 360 Pro : To Play This Disk Error

Unfortunately , a new xbox360 game cant be played in a normal xbox (not xbox 360)

The problem is that the new xbox is way different on the inside than the original xbox is. Because it is way more powerful, you can put an old xbox game into a 360, and it will work fine (most of the time), but if you try the reverse there is no way to make it work.
