How do you install moisture sensor bars in a maytag dryer? The sensor bars attach at the bottom of the lint catcher. They are bent and slide through to the back. I have noticed 2 wires with covers coming close to where the bent portion of the sensor goes through the lint catcher. Do these 2 wires need to touch the sensors to be effective? Any other advice? Thanks for your help.

The moisture sensor bar is attached to the bulkhead with 2-1/4 in. screws. 2 wires attach to the sensor bar. Very easy to replace in 5 minutes.

SOURCE: maytag dryer is taking forever

Make sure the vent is not clogged. Its in the bottom of back side. Typically vented outside. Also, verify your heater elements are working by running dryer with door open to check for heat

the fault is lint build up around the dyer element the element must be cleared of all lint after years of use despite having a catcher lint does get into the dryer in time it will build around the heating element and start to burn this is unsightly but more so very dangerous as it does cause house fires have the element cleaned

best of luck

HOW TO PUT DRYER RACK INTO WHIRLPOOL CABRIO #WGD6600VWO

If it is a dryer with the lint screen on top place the two ends of the metal loop into the two holes closest to the plastic clips on the bottom of the rack. The clip the metal bar down into the clips and the multi-bent part of the metal ring are now atteched to the bottom of the plastic rack. Turn it over and place the metal ring in to the back of the dryer and the front lip of th plastic rack then hangs loosly over the lip of the bottom of the opening of the dryer. It will all tighten up when you close the door. Hope this helps

Check local HD, Lowe's, Wal-Mart, etc. for a Dryer vent cleaning kit. Among other items, there is a flat tube attachment which connects to your vacum hose allowing you to get into the lint filter area.
