I assume you are talking about paring your bluetooth head set with your phone. It would help if you list the make and model for both of your phone and bluetooth device.
But in general, you put your phone in discovery mode to search for new devices, then you can power up your bluetooth device in pairing mode, usually by holding the power button for a long time while powering on the device util it starts flashing. After a few seconds, both devices should find each other. The phone should prompt you if you want to pair with the device found.
Testimonial: "great try & thought i almost had it but no luck"
Did you try holding down the power button for up to 30 seconds while powering up the bluetooth car kit?
BDA usually means "bidirectional amplifier", which is used to boost cell phone signal. Is there a more comprehensive make and model you can find for the car kit? What happened when you keep holding the power button down when you turn it on anyway? Did any lights blink?
Would it be possible for the to get the user's manual for the bluetooth car kit to find out exactly how to put it in pairing mode? Will the reseller be able to help you with that? Once you place the device in pairing mode, your phone should be able to find it and pair with it regardless what devices it paired with before.
If you can place the device in pairing mode, you won't need the code.
Sure, if you post a close up picture of both front and back of the device, we maybe able to find the manual for it.
Great, you should be OK if you can place the device into pairing mode. Please let me know if you need more help.
Were you able to place the device into pairing mode?

0000 and 1234 are the default pin codes for pairing up a Bluetooth device into another device. But there are some devices that has their own default PIN.
What is the brand and model number of your phone? Try to disable the Bluetooth of your phone same as the other phone. Turn your phone off and then remove the battery from it. After 5 minutes, turn your phone ON, enable the Bluetooth of it and try searching for the other Bluetooth device. If your phone could detect the other phone, try to pair it again using 1234. BUT, you have to make sure that the other phone should grant and accept the pairing. Because if the owner of the other phone reject the request to pair, then it's not your problem any more. No matter what pin you use, if the other phone rejects the pairing, then there's nothing that you could do.
But removing the battery from your phone should power cycle and soft reset your phone. This should resolve the issue. But if the same problem occurs, then contact your wireless carrier.
Have a great day!

I have contacted the reseller but have not heard from them - I bought it over the internet.I can find the device on my phone but I need to put in a pin number before it will accept.
