My bedroom SEIKI TV shows only one channel CBC while my RCA Tv in the living room shows all the channels I subscribed to. Why would there be a difference between the two?

Have you tried scanning for additional channels in the tv menu?
If yes and you're still experiencing the same issue.

you can check if the tv's parental controls are blocking channels on the tv you're having issues with. those are the two most common issues.

SOURCE: DTV converter box

Buy a hdtv antenna to autoscan program channels which should bring in a lot more then reconnect with the older antenna afterwards and if you're still not getting all the channels then each source needs a strong hdtv antenna that can be adjusted manually.

SOURCE: RF module related to Direct TV.

yes you can but the 2nd tv wont be in HD. The modulator can be purchased for any electronics store. what it does is turns a composite video signal (yellow, red, white cables) into a coax (screw in cable). it has an composite input that you would connect from the receiver and a coax output that you would connect to the other bedroom tv.

SOURCE: Should be controllng one box. is controlling 2 boxes

Unfortunately, there is no solution for this issue.  The remote control sends out an infrared signal, which can be picked up as far as 40' away from the device.  And to make things worse, the signal will reflect off any surface such as glass, mirrors, or even brightly painted walls.
The only way to solve the problem is to block the path of the beam to the other room.  This may require closing a door or drawing heavy drapes closed.

SOURCE: The two TV are synced. Do I unconnect them?

If you have a dual tuner it is in sigle mode. Go to the front panel on the receiver and press the mode button. This may be behind a push open door based on the receiver you have. If this does not work let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

I bought the same TV wich is in fact a Seiki TV, see the warranty paper. The television has digital and analog tuners so is able to receive digital channels. Our television receive signal thru a rabbit ear antenna and we had some trouble to scan all the digital channels. We had to change the orientation of the antenna to receive correctly the signals and we had to scan many times. We finally conected the TV to a roof antenna so we where able to scan all the channels of Montreal, north Vermont and north New York areas since we are living in the south shore in front of Montreal. After the scan was completed we conected back the TV to the rabbit ear antenna and the television is working correctly receiving all the stations of Montreal area with a very good picture quality.

To watch Dish Network in your room there a couple of different ways to do it. Unless that cable coming out of your wall is connected to a Dishnetwork reciever its useless. Now if the reciever in your living room is a dual tuner dvr than you can run a cable from one of the two outputs to your bedroom. In this scenario you can watch different channels at the same time. If it isnt a dual tuner then you can actually put a splitter on the cable coming out of the box to the tv(has to be on cable coming out of the reciever) and run it to your bedroom. In this scenario both tvs will show the same channel. In both cases you need a UHF remote(dual tuner DVRs come with one UHF and one infrared) that will allow you to change channels while in your bedroom. If you want HD programing on both tvs you will need to contact Dish Network to get a second reciever. its $7 more a month for a second reciever.

You need to get a converter with an "analog passthrough". The magnavox converter that you have is blocking the analog signal from reaching your TV's tuner. The RCA converters that your friends have must have the analog passthough feature that not all converters have.
