First make sure that the dryer is vented properly, then check the blower wheel. A common problem is for the center of the blower wheel to get rounded out through wear and tear, allowing the blower wheel to spin on the shaft, thus not spinning at the same speed as the motor. I will attach a photo for reference. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

My dryer is running, blowing air, etc... but the air is not heating up. I assumed that this has to do with the heating element, however, I can't seem to locate the heating element.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

I have a maytag legacy series that intermittently heats/.Do you know why?

If your dryer doesn't heat, check these:

Power from the house
Heating element
Thermal fuse
Wiring
Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Wiring A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.

The dryer will not heat up to dry clothes

youve probably got a bad heating element, also make sure air is blowing out back of dryer to the outside of house if its plugged it will cause element to break good luck

Maytag performa runs no heat how do I access the heating element?

Well if it runs then the fuse is ok so what you need to do is pop the top and check the high limit thermostst and heating element located at the rear of the machine. The top on most of these machines comes up easilty if you use a putty knife or five in one. Be sure to disconect the power source. a12fee1.jpg

My maytag dryer is blowing cool air

it should be located it a small trap door around the drum either on the side , inside , or on the bottom. to replace it you must remove the screws the hold it in place slide it out remove the wiring and then slide the new one in screw it back in and plug the wires back on it. please make sure during this process the dryer is unpluged from the wall plug. hope it works out for you .

MAYTAG ELECTRIC DRYER DOESNT HEAT. CAN YOU HELP ME?

Without seeing it, and very little info to go on, let me ask this, does the drum turn?

If there is no heat, go outside and check the exhaust, do you feel air blowing out?

If you do, then the heating element may be bad or the switch that sends power to the element may be bad. If no air blowing out, then I do not know any further. At any rate, a service man must come.

Maytag haevy duty stack washer dryer unit model # SE1000 series 06

I hope you got this fixed by now but if not I'll put in my 2 cents.. I assume that your dryer is electric and not gas. Assuming that is true then you probably have an open heater element.. similar to this used in electric stoves... There may also be other components that could have failed and in so doing, disabled power to that element. Could be a contactor or temp switch/thermistor.. Hope this helps and that you've already solved the problem...
