Lenovo Y410 auto shutdown

Hey I got the similar problems for a few months now and it turns up when 2 more applications opened and the disk spin heavily. I checked a few things, like removing the battery and only use the DC power supply, do the disk defrag more frequent then I should, and finally minimize the # of files on the hard drive but none works until I took it back to replace the cooling fans...
it works fine now !!

I experience the same auto shut down problem too. It was caused by overheating of the lap top, which was caused by collection of thick layer of dust inside the air vent.
Try opening the back panel and cleaning out the air vents.

I got lenovo y 410 its always overheating

Hi, Make the following check:
If you can open back cover, try to check and clean fan to ventilate or there's already available docking station with ventilation pact it can help.
You should not use a laptop on a soft surface such as a duvet or bed covering. The device needs to have free air intake and outlet to cool the processor. If you block the intake, which is probably under the machine, it will overheat and shut down. If you want to use it in bed put it on a hard surface such as a large book, so that the air intake cannot be blocked.
1. Boot your system in "safe mode" and check whether the problem persists. If so the problem is due to some freshly installed software, which you can of uninstalling. 2. If the shutdown happens when you are running on battery then check your power management software whether the battery is draining out rapidly. If problem is still there, then instead of trying your self, please consult your local lenovo technician / support centre.

Thank you!

Lenovo Y410 laptop is getting hot and shutdown automatically.

When systems power off suddenly, always suspect - the power first. I would then look at heat and physical connections next as culprits. Memory errors almost always show up as blue screens.
I say try a new power supply and see what it does. Its not a lot of money either way.

Run CPUID Hardware Monitor and watch your temps. You will have to turn logging on or you will lose the data in a crash.
Make sure your CPU heatsink is still connected properly. Things have a way of working loose.

I have a lenovo laptop, 3000 G410. Recently it has a problem which it shut down by itself after I use it for 20 minutes. After the shut down, I turn it on and this time it work only 2 minutes and shut down...

This sounds like a overheating problem (a CPU thermal shutdown).
This is caused by a faulty fan or the heat-sink and fan is clogged with dust. Check the fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the faulty fan. Check the fan/heatsink assembly and remove/vacuum the dust from these components.

One key recovery not working

This problem exist because once the 31GB default partition is formatted NTFS, it reduces in size. So, I found this solution.

1. Boot your machine with Ubuntu LiveCD
2. Go to Disk Utility and remove the C partition (31GB) and do not format it. Just RAW partition.
3. Now, Power off your lenovo Y410.
4. Press the NOVO key to start OneKey recovery and follow the prompts

You should get an option to recover sucessfully.

Enjoy
