Senseo 7814 does not heat water and red light keeps flashing

Have been given this machine but it doesn't work. I have flushed it several times, returned it to boiler shut state (power on and 1 button) and re-flushed but still no joy.

Is the red light flashing as though not enough water, if so use a magnet to connect to the valve inside the machine, the valve can be found along the water level where the float is. what is happening is that the float is stuck. by connecting the magnet to the valve and very slowly moving the magnet along the water level, upwards the valve will follow and the water will begin to heat as the light changes to a slow flash, if it doesn't work try again as you have not connected to the magnet

Senseo will not turn on or heat water

No need to see what is in the manual.
But what I type here, you also have to read.
The manual gives pictures. I'm not.
Remove the transparent back of the machine and fill it with water. a few centimetres under the top, you fine the line for max fill.
Then replace the transparent back on the machine. Then plug in the power cord and press the power on button. (once is enough) a light comes on and flashes, when the mains plug has power.
Then wait till the light stops flashing. In the mean time put a coffee pad in the top and close the top all as described in the manual.
Place one or two cups under the nozzles and press the button with the one or two cups. (two cups gives twice as much water, so place two cups.

That is all.

THE RED BUTTON FLASHES RAPIDLY

I guess it's the metal part in the water tank that makes contact with the machine when the water runs out. When you take the water tank off the Senseo it's in the bottom right corner. If you can't repair it, a spare water tank isn't that expensive.

Light keeps flashing and water will not heat

there is a float at the side of the machine by the water level, if the float gets stuck the red light will continue to flash even though water is present. Use a magnet on the outside of the machine by the water and float level and raise the float when connected to the magnet and the light will stop flashing red rapidly

Not heating up still cold

I had the same problem after only a few months. There is a float at the side of the water resivour, this float also has a magnet attached to it and for some reason becomes lodged at the bottom of the tank, telling the machine that there is not enough water in the tank, even when there is. Use a magnet on the outside of the resviour, connect it to the one on the inside and lift very slowly upwards...Hey presto the light stops flashing and the water boils

Senseo won't fill itself on initial flush

Sounds like resevoir was not seated properly or something is in the resevoir. try pushing the pin on the bottom of the resevoir, do it over the sink, and see if water comes out. if tht works then its internal to the machine. Senseo 7818

My husband found in ours that the little float was stuck over the sensor (the little patch) down in the reservoir. The float could not rise with the water, thus, the machine did not know that there was enough water available and it would not stop blinking. He took the dry reservoir out, turned it upside down and shook it! This worked for him, as it unstuck the float. He said that if that doesn't work, the thing is really stuck and you might as well return it.
