Backlight does not light when receiving an email on the 8330

You may have a defective motherboard. Are there any indications that you have plugged in the charger? Does the charging light on the laptop light up?

You need to go into "Options" then "Screen/Keyboard" and change your Backlight Timeout settings.

You can adjust the following settings
Backlight Brightness
Backlight Timeout
Automatically Dim BB
Turn on/OFF the auto backlight diming feature

Go to the backlight options

Your television actually has a backlight bulb which can be replaced at our parts request email and phone number. Email address: [email protected]. (866) 839-5888

you can set the backlight by going into the options on your blackberry and then screen/keyboard.
scroll to backlight brightness and click on it and set higher.
then go to backlight timer and click and scroll to whatever time.
exit using back button and save settings.

Hey Dannes1956,

The Motorola V3m has a light sensor, which is visible just above the right soft key -- the key above the CLR button. This light sensor turns the backlight on when you press a key in the dark and disables the keypad backlight when you are in a well-lit area.

Your phone sounds like it's operating normally. I believe they disabled the option to activate or deactivate that feature.
