Hi, I bought a Hitachi DMP850N 8GB MP3 player around 2 months ago. The problem I have is when I switch it on. It can take up to an hour for the music to come on. When I switch it on I get the message 'MP3 Library is building up Please wait for a moment' it normally hangs at this point, although vey rarely it does come on right away. I'd aprecciate any assistance with this issue, Regards, Paul Williams

SOURCE: power swtich off in transcend t.sonic 610 mp3 player

Install the firmware update that comes with the player. The solution is as simple as that. I had the same problem - the player was switchin off on its own. I installed the firmware update and it works like a charm. :)

One more solution, if the ones above do not work for you: (1) Open the x20 (internal drive: click) in Windows Explorer, (2) Save all of your music into folders (playlists) create in MyMusic (under MyDocuments), (3) highlight all of the folders you created (use the control key), (4) drag all of the folders onto the x20 into the internal drive of x20, (5) Find and play the folders under 'Browse" on the x20.

You have playlists. You just have to 'Browse' the x20 to find them--not 'Playlists'.

SOURCE: album art does not transfer with music on my sandisk mp3 player

Go to the sytem Settings menu and go to this option:
Display Art in Lists
Enabling this feature displays a small image of the song album cover, audiobook
cover, and photos when scrolling through list of these items.
1. Scroll down to Display Art in Lists and select it.
2. Use thumbwheel to switch between On (enable) and Off (disable).

If changing this option to enable fials to resolve the issue, the solution is a bit painful: You will have to manually add the artwork to each single song within an album in Windows Media Player 11, delete the song that is missing the artwork off your sansa, and re-add the songs again after you are done manually ediitng the artwork.

Manually add album art (WMP 11)
1. Run WMP.
2. Click Library on the top bar.
3. Select and right-click the file(s) you wish to update and select Advanced Tag Editor.
4. Click the Picture tab, then click Add.
5. Navigate to the image you wish to use for album art then click Open.
6. Click Apply then OK.

Philips Gogear Connect 3 8Gb runs out of battery in less than two hours.

I had the same issue. Device would charge in 30 minutes, but would then die in about 40 minutes of playing music.
Solution in my case was to reset. The first time I tried the reset I did it with the device off and that didn't seem to work, the second time I did it with the device on and it worked great. The device showed 8% battery life remaining. I reset and turned the device back on and it showed 93% battery life remaining!(I did not charge it) Since that time I have been playing music through Bluetooth to some remote speakers and still have 91% battery left.
To reset get a pin or knife and push in the small reset button on the non button side of the device.
Good Luck!
PS - If you don't own a Phillips GoGear Connect 3 DO NOT buy one. This problem aside it is the worst mp3 player I have ever owned. And if you subscribe to Rhapsody THIS IS NOT RHAPSODY ENABLED.

8GB MP3/4 Player

Well there may be a setting on the MP3/4 player that you can change the delay on the screen backlight staying lit for. Rummage around the settings for such a thing. If you can't find anything, some more information on what type of MP3/MP4 player it is would be helpful.

My sansa fuze 8gb won't turn off the screen is blank but the blue light around the wheel is sitll lit. When i tried to plug it into my computer it still did nothing. i just bought this 2 months ago and am...

You should be able to hold the power button (as if you were turning it on) for 20-25 seconds, which will shut it off completely. It should work as if nothing happened when you turn it back on again. Hope this works for you!!

My computer wont recognize my USB

Hi,

Try the following steps:

Resetting the device:
1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power/Menu button.
3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.

NOTE: Resetting will turn the player off while it is frozen.

If that doesn't work, then you may download and install the Sansa Firmware Updater and update to the latest firmware.
