Just call it old smokey. Does it quit after it warms up? This is not uncommon on most occasions.

SOURCE: 1999 bravada oil

check for coolant in the oil. remove the oil fill cap and look for a white milky substance. most likely engine damage has already occured because to have that low if oil pressure there is too much "clearance" between the bearings and the components they work with-(crankshaft,camshaft,connectiong rods). that vehicle came with dexacool coolant and it would shorten the life of the intake gaskets. they then would leak into the engine ruining the bearings over time. the skip can happen from lifters hydrolocked with the oil/coolant solution. take it to a reputable mechanic for an analysis......Good luck.......Scott

SOURCE: White smoke from my Craftmans tractor,

Use the lawnmower's oil dipstick to determine whether the oil level is correct. Maintain the correct level of oil. If you've overfilled the oil, open the drain plug, and drain some of the oil into a waste container.

Dispose of any excess oil properly. Burning off excess oil is undesirable. It can foul the mower's spark plug, piston rings, and other engine components and contributes to air pollution.

If your mower's engine has not been overfilled with oil, but still is smoking, it may have stuck or worn piston rings or another maintenance problem.
If it has sat over the winter, and didnt have stabilizer in it - it may be bad gas too. Drain it out, and put in fresh.

Does this engine require mix gas?

Peter
you are too short on details like make model , 2 stroke or 4 stroke
read your user manual or look on the petrol cap as most have the ratio on the bowser emblem
so for an answer, it is most likely a 2 stroke and so-- yes-- it will require a oil/fuel mix in the tank
if you do not know it , start with a ratio of 40:1 ( 40 fuel -1 oil) and only use 2 stroke oil not normal engine oil
run at rpms and there should be a trace of blue smoke
too much smoke cut the oil back to 50:1 and no smoke increase the oil to 30:1
go google and type in user manual for ( make and model ) --and the ratio will be in that print put

I need to know how many ounces to make per gallon with craftsman 2 cycle motor oil for ryobi 42 cc backpack leaf blower

the mix is 50:1 so the weight to volume will not matter
if you have a 1 gallon tin the amount of oil will be 1/50 of the gallon
1 gallon =128 oz so a ratio of 50: 1 would be 1 gallon of fuel to 2.6 oz of oil or 1/50 of the gallon calculate the oil required by dividing 128 by the recommended ratio figure (128 divided by 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 to get the oz amount of oil)
the thing is that the mix doesn't have to be exact as long as it is not tool short on the oil
so a mix ratio of between 30:1 to 50:1 will run in 2 stroke engines but a mix of 60:1 will cause problems
A good mix is when you can see a faint oil smoke when operating
too muck smoke and there is too much oil and no smoke too little oil
the major factor is--- do not use e-mix fuels

Gas in oil

Not suppose to be, but happens, remove the spark plug, and run the starter about 30 second, to clean the cylinder. Clean the spark plug and try to start it. When it's start it will smoke, but do not worry it will be OK, after a sort time. Good Luck

I have a 1997 Yamaha 40hp....C40PLRV without oil injection. My Sealoc manual calls for a 100:1 fuel mix. I had a dealer tell me to run 50:1, but it idles rough and is hard starting when cold even with...

Mate.2 stroke motors WITH oil injection run between 100/1 and down to 40/1(rich).With yours being pre-mix,it should run at 50/1 to be safe.Using a good quality 2stroke oil, with low smoke,it should run well. The only thing that may change, is how you use the motor.Slow trolling or running along travelling.A spark plug that is 1 heat range hotter will help burn the fuel/oil mixture if you do a lot of slow running.Faster and /or high speed running, will keep your plugs ok.These are safe guides not to cook up a piston.Hope this helps you

I have a used Homelite d3300 UT10779 and no manual... need the gas oil ratio.

there normaly a 40-1 mix,,,i run mine in a 30-1 mix,, now i know your going to say "thats a bit ritch!" but my saw is 20 years old now? and i look at it this way,,,if you can see smoke you got oil?
if you run it on two stroke or engine oil you need to run it on the ritch side,,,so stick on 30-1

I have a 40hp four stroke about 6 years old. It has sailed about 100 hours. The motor strarts and is running fine to about 2000 rpm. Between rpm 2000 and 3000 the engine is running badly. I'll be grateful...

Change the oil seal at the top and bottom engine and service or rebuilt your carb. Clean-up all electronic gear under the engine flywheel maybe its wet by the oil mixed.

I need to know the gas to oil mixture ratio for a Homelite Mighty blower

its about 40 to 1 mix but i would run it on a 30 to 1 mix as the motor last longer on that mix, look at it this way,,,if it smokes a little there is plenty of oil getting to the piston and bearings!!! so the engine lasts longer,,,
