Generally YES, but it will take longer than with the wall wart. When ou connect to yur computer via USB, most connectors at the camera side have a LED that will go from red to green when charged. This assumes that the camera has an internal battery. There are earlier Fujis that have removable batteries, they can be replaced with the appropriate sized Ni Cad only. Do not use Li Ion as their charge/discharge rates get dicey- the end result with Li Ion charged in other that a a specifically designed charger is UGLY!

This camera does not charge via the USB cable, the cable is used to download the photos to the computer.
This camera uses a recharageable lithium battery and the battery needs to be removed and connected to an external battery charger to be charged.

It wont charge

You can't charge the A80 by plugging in a USB cable. The cable is for downloading photos only. Assuming that you are using rechargeable AA batteries, you need to remove the batteries and place them in an external charger to recharge them.

1) how do I charge my Nikon S3000 camera? I only have a cable that connects the camera to the pc. Am I misssing a cable or is this how it should charge? 2) my pc (Windows 7) cannot find the drivers for...

Use the USB cord to charge the camera. Just make sure you're connected directly to a powered USB port, not going through a hub.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

How to charge my battery through the USB Data Cable

Well it does, I don't know what had happen to your cable but mine works...it automatically charges my phone every time I connects the cable to my PC.
There might be something wrong with your cable's charging capability or with your phones charging port.
Try to look for some switches if there is. But I think the problem is your Data cable's capability to charge.
