Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

No. The A80 is not a battery charger. If you want to use rechargeable batteries with the A80, you must recharge them outside the camera using a separate charger.

Time and date want to

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Pictures have a pink tint to them

Is this when you've printed them, or on the camera screen?

If it's when you've printed them you may need to clean the print head of your printer.

You'd do this by going through your printer's 'toolbox', which should be accessable from a menu tree - my one starts with clicking the 'HP Solutions Center' icon on my desktop.

Never try to clean the printhead physically as it just makes the whole thing useless.

I hope this helps.

Batteries run out fast

If the recharageable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and graduallythe charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The batteryshows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops offto zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptablecharge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

It wont charge

You can't charge the A80 by plugging in a USB cable. The cable is for downloading photos only. Assuming that you are using rechargeable AA batteries, you need to remove the batteries and place them in an external charger to recharge them.

Pictures come out red or no picture at all

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager, and is a known defect for your particular model camera.. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free if you live in the US, Canada, and a select few other countries. If you live outside the US, contact Canon support for your country to see if they'll still honor the advisory (some still will, especially if you stress you knowledge that this is a known defect of the camera). They may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please see this link for more info.
