I am getting a error message saying the printer does not have enough ink to ensure printer health. The empty ink cartridge must be replaced to resume printing. I replaced the cartridges and it does not...

These printers have been known to have ink system failure errors. This message can also be caused by using compatible or re-manufactured cartridges. We believe the HP Live update software is also responsible for "dobbing" on you if you use any other brand.
A Fix for the ink system failure can be found below Not sure if it will help with your particular error but it wont hurt to try.

I have a HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-One printer that is 3 years old. It has been a great printer for our home. Today it decided it would no longer print and I get the following message: Ink System...

I had an ink system error message on my C6180 that evolved into the printer power cycling every 15 seconds of so. Apparently some defective components were used in the construction of the logic board (see photo). On my C6180 there were 3 failed capacitors (the green cylinders - the puffed top indicates failure) and a 4th from the same manufacturer (TEAPO - many unfavorable web references to this manufacturer). I purchased 3x 330uF 16V and 1x 680uF 10v rated to 105 degrees Celsius (total about 60cents). On the logic board, the capacitors I replaced are labeled C613, C614, C660 and C662. If you are not comfortable replacing the parts yourself (or don't have a soldering tool), you will have to find someone who will. The time to repair should be less than 30 min - I did it in 25 min with only a solder pen. This also fixed the ink system failures the printer was having. A similar fix may apply to other printers produced by HP around this time. acca299.jpg

HP photosmart c6180 all in one printer error message of 0xc19a0035, ink system has failed. unable to copy, receive faxes, or print. what can i do to fix it?

Hello,

The "Ink System Failure" error is caused by air in the ink fed tubes. We have a step by step guide to perform a ink purge on the printer posted on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/category/printer-repair/hp-printer-repair/ Following this procedure should get your printer back running in about 10 minutes.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Will not print, has error message 0xc18a0406. ink system failure

The ink system failure message has a chance to be fixed or it may be a permanent issue. It can be pointing toward a firmware failure in the printer and if that is the case the following steps should fix it.
Press and hold the “*” key. Press the “#” key and release both keys.
Display should say “Enter Special Key Combo”
Press and release in sequence the "1”, “2” and “3” buttons.
Display should say “Support” and display the FW rev (something like R0631R)
Mine reads R0631M
. Press and release the right arrow button until the display says “System Configuration Menu”.
Press and release the “OK” button.
Display should say “Hardware failure status”. If not there already, Arrow Key over to “Hardware failure status”,
Press and release the “OK” button.
Display should say “Hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear”.
Press and release the “OK” Button. Message changes to “Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue”.
Press and release the “CANCEL” button as many times as necessary, so that, either the “Welcome to Photosmart Express” screen appears, or, the “Ink System Failure” screen appears. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE.
Using the Power Button, turn the unit OFF and unplug the power cable from back of the printer and wall outlet.

Turn the unit on. The printer may display message “USE POWER BUTTON TO SHUTDOWN THE PRINTER” followed by “PRESS OK TO CONTINUE”. Press OK.
