Depending on the procedure you may be pressing the record button instead of the D.Dubbing or Dubbing button. When recording from VHS to DVD you must first, load the blank DVD and VHS home movies, then play the VHS movies, then PAUSE the VHS movie when you want to START recording... then the only the you have to do is pressing the D.Dubbing button or the Dubbing button. If your VHS tapes starts to play after the Dubbing button is pressed you have been successful in Dubbing.
I do not know who you are but you are a genius. I read and re-read the manual and evidently they didn't have it figured out. I tried your way and perfection. Thank you so very much. It was so simple using your directions and now I have successfully transfered most of my home movies to a dvd. THANK YOU SO MUCH
OMG, that you so much, Complexity! I followed the instruction manual, but couldn't get it to work. You ARE a genius.

Your VHS tapes are copywrited. Must purchase a Video Stabilizer.
You need 3 seperate pieces of equipment.
1) VHS Player
2) Video Stabilizer
3) DVD recorder.
Cannot use Combo VHS/DVD recorder for dubbing copywrited store bought VHS movies directly to DVD due to Macrovision detection circuits built into the recorder per federal law.
