Yes, it is called an inline fuse holder. You can get at Radio shack. Make sure to get the right size so the fuse fits. The ampere rating should also be at least as high as the fuse amps.
When you say cigarette lighter does not work, do you mean the insert part, which heats up to light a cigarette, or do you mean the socket? You can test the socket by plugging in a cell phone charger or similar device to see if there is any electricity. If not, then it would be the fuse. To find the fuse, check the net for a manual, stop by the dealer/parts department and ask where it is, or ask at repair shops in gas stations.
is the only thing not working the cigarette lighter? the fuse that operates it is usually the accessories fuse, it normally operates the interior light as well, which fuse box have you checked, there is most likely one under the bonnet & there also may be one under the dash as well, it might well be that the cigarette lighter element is the problem, try another lighter....hope this helps....cheers
On some vehicles the cigarette lighter fuse is attached to the cigarette lighter assembly itself. Check if you can gently prise the cigarette lighter assembly out of its location in the dashboard, or remove any panel that may allow access to the rear of the cigarette lighter and look for the fuse (it may be an in-line one in the power lead to the cigarette lighter or it may be physically attached to the cigarette lighter itself). Failing that, the fusebox is normally under the dashboard on the driver side, but some fuseboxes can be found under the dashboard on the passenger side. There should be a diagram under the fusebox cover that shows what circuits each fuse protects. If a fuse has blown ensure that another of the same type and value is used to replace it.
Two years later and you solved my dead cigarette lighter. manual says fuse 35--but it did not say to check 38 on the left fuse box. Thanks--blown fuse and everything works. Thanks
