Why does my Vizio M43-c1 now show a black screen?

Has sound, no response to flashlight test, I can see by the power led that it is power cycling about every minute.

SOURCE: No Screen or sound

there are two possibilities to this problem. First and cheapest way is to replace the main board. Second, replace the inverter board. This is the boards that are mounted vertically on both sides of the TV.

SOURCE: Vizio Plasma 42HDTV - Power, No Video

Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The most common thing to go out on flat panel TVs is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board.
But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptom.

You have a few choices:
1. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

2. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.
3. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

If you have tried using different input devices, looked for loose contacts
in power outlet, RC Jack, cable and connectors, the TV might need service.

M43-c1 Vizio TV has no picture but sound works

Hi Chuck Keplinger, so you say, you may have some LEDs in the backlight or the source that feeds them
If they are the LEDs, replace them completely, to prevent the failure from repeating in a short time

Hola Chuck Keplinger, por lo que comentas, puedes tener mal algunos LEDs de la iluminacion trasera o la fuente que los alimenta
Si son los LEDs, reemplazarlos por completo, para evitar que la falla se repita en poco tiempo

My Vizio p55-c1 tv wont turn on; need help with diagnosis. see details below.

Hi Alon, as you say, it would be very possible that the main board is responsible for the malfunction of your Vizio TV
Because you say you have no image, no sound, assuming you turn it on knowing what input it is and there is some ymagen and sound, but the TV does not show you anything
If you were to have sound, there could be the T-Con board, since this does not affect the audio
I hope you can solve the problem
Greetings Franco Dosil

Why did my Vizio LED TV go black?

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main digital board.
