Philips 42PFL7403D/F7 LCD TV. red light blinking where the on/off light is. TV will not turn on.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience.
If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Counting of number of blinks to Philips TVs is entirely different to that of other brand TVs. It is not a direct count procedure. The site have details about how to count the number of LED blinks [Fault Codes] to Philips brand TVs are given; along with details of the faulty circuit location.

Type in the brand name of your device, in the search box [at the top right] of the display window and the Search will start at once as you type in, and will show you all the related posts. It will make surf easy.

MANUAL CODE SEARCH
If the 3-in-One Easy Remote Control does not op-erate your remote-controlled devices when you
first set it up, you might have to manually find the correct code for your devices. you can
follow these steps to search the remote control's entire library.
1. Manually turn on the device you want to set
up.
2. Press the corresponding device key (TV,
VCR, or CBL).
3. Hold down P until the red light blinks twice,
then press 9, 9, and 1. The red light blinks
twice again.
4. Aim the remote control at the device you
want to operate.
5. Repeatedly press PWR then the device key
for the device until it responds to the command.
6. When the device responds to the command,
press P within 5 seconds to save the code.
Note: If you do not press P within 5 seconds,
the remote control does not save the code.
• Because the remote control's library has
so many codes, this procedure can take
several minutes.
• If your device turns off during the search,
but does not operate after you lock in the
code, begin the search again, pausing
longer between key presses.
Determining the 3-Digit Code
After you set up your remote control using manual code search, you can find which 3-digit code the
remote control is set to by following these steps.
1. Press the device key you want to get the
manufacturer's code from, then hold down P
until the red light blinks twice.
2. Press 9 9 0 . The red light blinks twice again.
3. Press 1 then count the number of times the
red light blinks. This is the first digit of the 3-
digit code.
Note: If the red light does not blink, the digit
is a 0.
4. Repeat Step 3 twice to find the second and
third numbers of your 3-digit manufacturer's
code, pressing 2 and 3 respectively for each
additional digit.

Hi i have lost instruction manual for my total remote urc 11-4110 b02 Universal Remote could you tell me how to code it to tv manually please

@font-face { font-family: "Cambria"; }p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal { margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Times New Roman"; }div.Section1 { page: Section1; } SET UP
TV
The Search Method
If your device does not respond to the TOTAL CONTROL after you have tried all the codes listed for your brand, try searching for your code. The Search Method allows you to find the code for your device by scanning through all the codes contained in the memory of the TOTAL CONTROL.
To search for your TV code:
1 Switch your television on (not on standby) and aim your TOTAL CONTROL at your TV.
2 Press the TV key on your TOTAL CONTROL.
3 Press and hold down SET UP until the red light blinks twice. (The red light will blink once and then twice)
4 Press 9 9 1. The red light will blink twice .
5 Now slowly, alternate between POWER and TV, over and over, until your television turns off. You may have to press these keys many times (up to 150!), so please be patient.Remember to keep pointing the TOTAL CONTROL at your television when you press these keys.
6 As soon as your television turns off, press SET UP.
The TOTAL CONTROL remote should now be ready to operate your device. Turn your device back on and try all the remote’s functions to ensure they are working
properly. If some of the TOTAL CONTROL’s commands are not operating correctly, try the search method again. You may be using the wrong code.
Once you have Set-Up your TOTAL CONTROL, you can blink back your SET-UP CODE for future reference.
Example: To blink out your Television code:
1 Press TV once.
2 Press and hold SET UP until the red light blinks twice (The red light will blink once and then twice).
3 Press 9 9 0. The red light will blink twice.
4 For the first digit of your four-digit code, press 1 and count all the red blinks. If there are no blinks, the digit is "0".
5 For the second digit, press 2 and count all the red blinks. If there are no blinks, the digit is "0".
6 For the third digit, press 3 and count all the red blinks.
If there are no blinks, the digit is "0".
7 For the fourth digit, press 4 and count all the red blinks. If there are no blinks, the digit is "0". Now you have your four-digit code.Make sure you write your Television code for easy future reference.

I HAVE LOST THE MANAUAL FOR MY PHILIPS MAGNAVOX UNIVERSAL REMOTE

You don't need the whole manual for the Philips Magnavox remote fortunately.

If you want to reprogram it for the Apex TV, follow my directions exactly.

  1. Hold down the Code Search button (on the remote) until the light on it turns red and stays red.
  2. Let go of the Code Search button.
  3. Make sure to switch modes at this point to which device you want to program, I'm going to assume TV Mode since your post says "Apex TV." If you need help with Apex DVD codes, I can answer that one too :)
  4. As you Press the mode button and release it, the light should blink for a bit, so keep your eye on it because after it's done blinking it'll stay red.
  5. At this point the remote want's you to press a sequence of numbers also known as Code[s] or Code Entries. Either way these are what are in a table inside the manual that you lost.
  6. I'm going to give you two codes in case one doesn't work: 044 and 335 (one of those hopefully will work)
  7. If the code worked you'll know right away because the light will get mad and start blinking again, otherwise if it DID work, it'll just turn off (the light will anyway).
  8. That's it, I reccomend you test out your remote with the TV now and make it everything works. If something doesn't, try the other code. If it still doesn't work right, I'll give you some more codes.
Hope that helped,
-Cheers-

Philips universal remote codes

Hi Troysingleto. The code can depend on what model of URC you have. According to a site I found by Googling, the code for Apex TVs on one common URC from Philips is 044. Here are the steps to input it directly:

1. Press and hold the Code Search button until the red indicator stays on. Release the Code Search button.

2. Press and release the desired mode button (TV, DVD, etc). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.

3. Enter the 3 digit code (044) . Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.

4. With your device on, press CHANNEL Up. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your equipment, try one of the other codes for your brand.

If that code does not work, you can still find the code using this manual procedure first posted on FixYa by cptnkirk4064:

1. Manually turn on device to be controlled.

2. Press and hold the "Code Search" button until the red indicator light stays on, then release it.

3. Press and quickly release the desired code button (TV, VCR, etc). The red indicator light should blink once.

4.Press the "Channel Up" button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until thedevice to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator light shouldblink off with each button press. If you accidentally overshoot therequired code, press the "Channel Down" button to backtrack through thelibrary until the device changes channel. Pressing "Channel Up" changesdirection again.

5. Press and release "Mute" button to install the code.

If you wish to actually identify the code once this has been done, this is the procedure:

1. Press and hold the "Code Search" button until the red indicator stays on. Release the "Code Search" button.

2. Press and release the desired mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator light blinks and then stays on.

3. Press and release the "Code Search" button. The red indicator light goes off.

4.To find the first digit for the code stored under the mode key pressedin "Step 2" press each numeric key from 1-9 in turn. When the redindicator light blinks off, the number you pressed is the first digitfor the code you are searching for.

5. To find the second digit, repeat "Step 4," this time when the red indicator light blinks off, this is the second digit in your number.

6. Repeat again for the third digit in your code number.

Once I find out the code for my TV or DVD player, I write it on a small piece of paper (make sure to note which unit code is for!) and tape it to the inside of the lid to the battery compartment for future reference.

Best of luck!
