When doing a factory reset of a second hand phone do i need to have a sim card inserted for it to work?

There are two way to perform the unlocking of then Samsung C5130 phone depending on the condition of the phone. Have a look to first way.

• Switch On Samsung C5130 by inserting SIM Card of Other then locked Network
• You will get the screen for Password
• Type Unlock Code of you Phone

If this is not working and Samsung C5130 is asking for the "Insert Correct SIM Card" then you have to go with this second way.

• Switch On Samsung C5130 by inserting SIM Card of Other Network
• Ignore the message display on Samsung C5130 screen
• Type "#0111*CODE#"

all you have to do is clean out the phone insert the sim in correct way, if this does not work then get a new sim or excahnge the phone for a new one

remove the battery and sim card .. apart and insert the sim & gradually the battery .. turn it on.. if also it ask like that only.. try to reset the phone.
here is the steps to reset the phone:
go to tools> settings> phone> general> restore factory settings> general passward is 12345 or ur security code.. it will reset the phone.. see it will majorly set's the problem.. if not see in sim insert area where u can find and pin lose or cut at sim slod .. i am not sure which mobile u are using..

ok do one thing put one expired sim card in your cell then it surely works it will not freeze i think ...
after that give restore factory settings(reset) as you access menu ...
(if you were able to access the menu previously then no need of this expired sim card ...)

after giving restore factory settings then all your firmware problems will be solved & the phone will not freeze like previously so just insert the sim card whose network must be unlocked & insert that code ....

in case if you couldnt do the restore factory settings then just
insert this codes with out sim(any one of them will surely reset your cell)

in this one of them will reset your phone after that insert that sim & insert the previously told unlocking code...

Call your carrier and ask them to detach your device IMEI from the username locked in. Once that is done, hard reset without your SIM card inserted
