SOURCE: tv remote quit working

The remote put out IR (INFRARED) signal that human eyes cannot see, you need to use your digital camera to see it, just point the remote at the camera's lens, you should see flashing light on your camera screen when any remote buttons is pushed.
You may have problem with the IR receiver in your TV, but find out first if the remote is putting out the signals

worst case will be the main logic board.

Hello... I would start by getting the correct lamp for the TV, and I would advise getting an original equipment lamp. The lamps and ballasts are matched by wattage and operating voltage, and a mis-match will at best cause early lamp failure. The sound you are hearing could be the ballast trying to ignite a bad lamp caused by a mis-match. I hope this helps!

Sony DLP has Dark Screen

Techman007 is correct here. Lamps have "lifetimes" of a certain number of hours. The lamp indicator is there to let you know that the lamp is likely to fail soon as it has reached its expected lifetime. That does not mean that there aren't lamps that will fail sooner. In your case, the lamp is not producing the amount of light required for a good picture. This is normal for lamps as they age. The light output for all lamps decreases with use. Normally this does not occur in such drastic ways however.

Since you are getting light from the lamp, the ballast is working as expected. The ballast is similar in function to the ballast for a flourescent light, it either works or doesn't.

One other thing that can be checked is the fan area and any glass surfaces for dust and dirt. Again this will effect hte overall light output, but not in such a drastic way. When you next change the lamp, carefully clen any glass surfaces as well as the fan area. Please note that any access to the lamp area should be done after the lamp has had time to cool. These lamps are burn hazards.

I turn tv on...green light comes on but i get no picture or audio....then light indicator blinks red

Hello!
Lamp or ballast(if lamp has been replaced) is bad.
Explanation: green comes on: system works, waiting for light to shine into light engine: no light is coming out of lamp, system shuts down, then you see red! how to determine: pull the lamp out of the unit's compartment. Inspect lamp: bloated stem? shuttered? reflector is not shiny? Chuck it!
Lamp looks good or just been replaced: try ballast. Close lamp compartment without lamp itself. Make sure, door is shut, as well. Turn unit on and listen close to lamp compartment: good ballast will make a buzzing noise, then stop. You've got "red'! No buzzing: ballast quit. Needs major repair! Lamp must be good, for sure, to get to the last part of diagnostics. Conclusion: more, than 2000 hours of usage: replace lamp first!
Good luck,
Alex.
