Check your connections first. Usually a camera comes with software to allow transfer from camera to computer. If it has worked before, then there is a connection problem now. Windows media player supports many formats of video. Each format type is determined by the file extension, for example .mpg .mts .avi etc. If the camera records in an uncommon format, you may need to load a different CODEC (Compression/decompression program).
See here for all formats that windows media player supports:-

SOURCE: Panasonic SDR-H18 Camcorder I get no audio

I found, from the Best Buy Geek Squad, that all Hard Drive Video cams use a audio format that only works with their hardware. If you burn a DVD (using their software) is audio will be present.

SDR S7 panasonic camcorder... lost installation disc

The best solution is to get a replacement CD from Panasonic at
http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Camcorders/Hard-Disk-Drive/SD-Camcorders/model.SDR-S7A
They may replace the CD at a reasonable cost (or free plus S&H). Otherwise they can suggest other editing software that can upload your recordings to the PC.

Panasonic SDR-H40-Date/time missing when transfering video to PC

get a capture card, an AV cord ( red, yellow and white cord) and record it onto the computer. This will push the date and time stamp onto the video. There really isnt any other quick solution :-(, unless you sport 800$ for a highend camera, then all harddrive cameras have this problem.
