try to clean the video head...i advise to use a blank tape and fastforward it until the time code counter display...you should on it the menu of the camera..

Panasonic sdr-h40p cannot connect to my pc
hi all, i had exactly the same problem and finally managed to sort it out, here to share with u all. The AC adapter is the one looks like a battery cable which comes with the camcorder. You have to remove the battery first, and plug the AC adapter into the place where the battery was, then connect the other end to the battery charger. Now you can select the PC connect option and transfer your videos. Hope it helps. =)

How do I remove Videocam
Hello. Try to uninstall Videocam Suite 2.0 from Start -> Control Panel -> Programs, and select
Programs and Features option . From the list of
applications you have to select the application you want to
remove from your system and then try to uninstall it from there .
If you found this location (C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation
Information\{9EDF1A5D-D8E0-413E-9782-75DD4A8C831B}\setup.exe
-runfromtemp -l0x0009 -removeonly), you can also try deleting from it.

This is usually caused by a defective CCD image sensor and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. Try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

Disc error occurred repair disc
If you replace the dvd drive assy in the vdrd100 it wont destroy the recording on your discs and the other recordings should play just fine, provided that the discs arent defective or the recordings on them are ok. I hope this helps
