Hello Wayne, to know where the Back Light inverter is, you have to remove the lid of the TV, with extreme care and observe where the cables that come from inside the lighting panel are connected
I personally think that the TV has problems in the LED strips that are responsible for retro lighting the screen, I do not think the problem comes from the inverter
If you have technical knowledge, you should disarm the front panel, with extreme care and reach the led strips and try one by one, these are all connected in series, so if any LED is burned, the circuit is interrupted and does not turn on
I sent you the link of a supplier of these led strips, which are usually the ones that fail
I hope you can solve the problem, if not, take it to a specialized technical service
Greetings Franco Dosil

SOURCE: AOC LM700 17" LCD Screen switches to black and then comes back to norm

Hi,

According to LCDParts, an inverter for an AOC LM700 would cost $69.99. Specs (with picture) are available here.

Perhaps you can do a Google for lesser priced versions.

Good luck and kind regards.

SOURCE: No Picture & No sound. Red LED, Green LED, Red LED.

If the power supply outputs are good! Then I would say the back light inverter is bad! If the screen stays black and does not come on.

On a Sanyo DP58D34, it has no sound, and no video, but the green power light comes on when turned on and you can here clicking coming from back of tv when you turn it on. What would cause this?

Sound like one of your circuit boards has a bad connection or bad component and the low voltage circuit that powers the tuner is not working. The high voltage circuit that powers the picture will not power up if the low voltage circuit fails.

My 42" hd Sanyo flat

chances are your backlight inverter circuit has failed, repaired one a few months back with the same problem. To verify this, take the tv in a dark room. plug it in and take a bright\ flash light and shine it on the screen. turn the set on, you should see either the screen saver or video from your source. If this is the case, your inverter is at fault. Depending on your model, your backlight inverter is built onto your power supply board so you will have to replace the power supply/inverter board. Not hard to do, you can do it yourself with care.
