I have a 60 inch aquos sharp tv and it was hit by lighting 1 year ago. And ive redone everything inside it. Bought a new main board new video board and t con board. Even new power cord all from sharp. Now i have a 2 long 5 fast error flash? Any ideas on the fix? Could it be the backlight. It wont force on shuts back off and flashes the error code again

why don't you try upgrade the firmware first??

Try looking for a second or even third fuse. I have a tv that has two separate fuses one protects the entire unit. the other protects one of the circuit boards. It is mounted directly on the board.

If you bought it with a credit card that usually gives you a year of extended warranty so repairs would be no cost

Try unplugging the unit and hold the volume up and channel down buttons down and plug the unit in. Let go of the buttons and the unit should come on up the service mode. There will be a small k on the screen. With the remote press the channel up button . This should bring up a menu that will show a lamp error line. If the lamp error is = to 5 the unit is in lamp error shut down. Use channel down to highlight that line and the curser right arrow to highlight the lamp error #. Hit the enter button to clear the lamp errors. Now unplug the unit and let it sit for a minute and plug back in. If the unit does not come on by doing this or if it does and you do not find lamp errors the power supply pcb may have been damaged .

salut dear i've the same problem with my aquos lc40le540e.the sharp dealer in my country are not qualified to solve all led problems and after14month i've took the maiboard to one technician who have erased the firmware with an electronic operation and he have instaled a new firmware.after this i've insatal the maiboard andwhen i power on everything gonna be alright

Typically if you have a backlight and no video image it's going to be the T-Con board. We do know it's most likely not the powersupply board because the back light comes on. Could also possibly be the main board, but typically the T-con boards are cheaper and I'd say you got a 70% chance that's the issue. Good luck.

How many times does the POWER led flash per second? (Dont worry about the OPC).

1x (steady constant blink) = Lamps or inverters
2x = Power Supply
3x = Main Unit

If i am reading it correctly, looks like the POWER led is flashing 2x, which means it is a power supply failure. Either way, your TV needs to have a board replaced, there isn't anything you can do to fix it yourself. Try locating your local sharp authorized service center to repair your TV (1-800-237-4277)
