SOURCE: Own a "Craftsman Rear Tine

Hi,
Can you move the tines by hand???
They should turn by hand if you try to move them...if not then they are bound up by something...
either a bearing has gone bad, something has wrapped around them, or there is something stuck in there that will not let them turn...check for a rock stuck between one of the tines and the housing around them...

Get the tines moving freely and you will be okay again...

Craftsman rear tine tiller

If you cant move the tines by hand then I wouldn't think you sheared the pins, more like a gear box problem.

Craftsman rototiller mod. # 917-294260 won't go into gear

try rolling it a bit. Sometimes the gear doesn't fully mesh correctly. As you try to shift push or pull the tiller juuuust a bit back and forth and try to shift as you do that see what happens. Or go into neutral and rock it then try again.

I have a 19" 7 horsepower dual rear tine tiller and can not find out what size belt it takes. It is a craftsman bought at Sears. I lost my manual for it.

If you're talking about the dual-rotation rear tine 900 series, produced by AYP, sold by Sears as Craftsman, also sold by Husqvarna, the actual belt size is 51-3/8". A 51 should work.

I have a craftsman 19 in dual rotating tines, rear tine tiller. # 917-293493. In mid till, the tines quit turning. Won't shift into any gear. Wheels are locked. Any ideas?????

It is going to be a transmission issue. You can try with the engine off, turning the trans pully by hand in the opposite direction that the motor was turning it.
Some gears in the trans got crossed up and locked.

I have power to the tines but the wheels are locked

Tines only spin in the T position.with cutch engaged. If thats not it split the case and check to see the shift fork operating properly. Or that chains are not broke. NOTE This is a serious job!!!
