Remove fly wheel

Need model and type of engine, but usually you just remove the cover, then remove the nut securing the flywheel. Then you can use a flywheel puller or apply a little upward pressure on the flywheel with a small pry bar and gently tap the opposite top corner of the flywheel and it should pop loose. Don't hit the flywheel too hard.

Tillers rotate put in gear wont move

Hi pat,

Yes, there are two chains in the tranny. If the wheels spin freely but don't engage, the smaller chain is broken.

If the wheels don't move, in gear or not, the smaller chain is broken and wrapped around the gears.

It's a bit of a chore to get to....

My 900 craftsman front tin

Sounds like you have a bad coil. You can try cleaning the rust and stuff off the magnet on your flywheel and see if it will start then and if not then your gonna have to buy another coil they shouldn't be to much.

Have a sears craftsman 6.0 rear tine tiller.

Hi little,

The 7.0 hp version does the same thing.

I found that it was caused by the transmission not being fully engaged to a particular setting. when it tries to engage the tines in both forward and reverse, the engine stalls immediately.

After taking to neutral and back a few dozen times I got a 'feel' for it. Has happened in over a year.

Try it. It did take patience.

Best regards

I have a 19

If you're talking about the dual-rotation rear tine 900 series, produced by AYP, sold by Sears as Craftsman, also sold by Husqvarna, the actual belt size is 51-3/8". A 51 should work.

My tiller wont go into forward gear. Reverse is

Sounds like a problem in the gearbox if there is no external interference problems with the shift mechanism. It may require opening and inspecting the gearbox.

I need a manual for model 842252441 craftsman rear

I was looking at various manuals available for craftsman tow-behind tillers. If you click this link you'll find 7 models of craftsman tow-behind tillers listed. While I didn't find your exact model, one or more of these manuals might be useful.

Also, I noticed that on the 486.252442 manual, it mentioned contacting [email protected]. Sears has rebranded many company's products as Craftsman over the years. I suspect in this case, Sears repackaged a Agri Fab 71-252441 as the 842252441. I found a few web sites selling a paper manual for the 71-252441, but I didn't find anywhere to download an electronic copy.

Agri-Fab's website is www.agrifab.com and their contact page lists a toll free contact number (800) 448-9282. Their web site had manuals for 6 tow-behind tillers, but none of the models obviously matches up. You may be able to look at them and ID your model better than I. You could also try giving them a call maybe someone can ID their model number for your tiller.

Hope this helped. If so, please give it a thumbs up!
