SOURCE: repair computer screen

Anger managemnt classes might help, though owning a computer it will never stick for long hehe

Seriously though, when an LCD is damaged due to impacts etc, then there is only one repair method, replace the LCD. If the screen is still in a working condition, then thank your lucky stars.
If it is still running apart from the white dot, the best thing to do is to learn to live with it if possible, depending on the size of the dot of course. Laptop screens can cost nearly as much as the laptop to have replaced. You may get lucky and be able to find a laptop on eBay to salvage a screen from.

Sorry for the bad news.

SOURCE: Blue tints w/ tini blue dots

if you see blue pixel type groups of squares or dots you may have a burnt light engine and this is common in many LCD rear projection sets; a blue screen may mean the engine became burnt--LCD rear projection sets of this kind have an optical enginge--with red, green, blue prizims--sometimes they get burned by the lamp---a photo would tell me or most techs what the problem is---the cost of a replacement engine is very expensive--some models with this problem are covered by Sony even if the set is no longer in warrant

I have the same thing too. My guess is that some of your MEGApixels (tiny squares that create your screen) Are fried.

The screen shows multiple tiny dots. (stars)

Are they sharp and defined, or 'blob'-like? If they are sharp, that would indicate a faulty DLP block (not worth repairing, unless under-warranty.) If they're more 'blob'-like, it's probably just dust in the optical block. That can usually be remedied by removing the lamp, and blowing-out the unit with an air compressor. Canned air won't do the job, as there's not enough pressure.

Little white dots in tv modle# wdt657 what are they how can i get them off

Your TV is DLP projection TV. DLP is Digital Light Processing. Digitally processed light coming out of DMD (Digital Micro mirror Device) is projected on the TV screen. This DMD is made of thousands of tiny mirrors & the size is about 0.7 inch. These mirrors are fixed with tiny hinges for its movement. They reflect light as per processed signal. DLP is invented by Texas Instruments. When there are dots on the screen, that means the tiny mirrors representing the dots are stuck in its position. If the dots are few & the viewing is bearable, just leave as it is. If the dots are more than bearable then you will have replace the DMD chip which is quite costly.

White dot on my samsung DLP 42" screen

Hi,
white dot is from a failure in the dlp chip. it controls 1000s of tiny mirrors which help make up your pix, when the mirrors get stuck a white dot appears. over time more will pop up. Probably in the $300-$500 range to have someone repair.

I get white dots upper left corner across the screen of set now I have a Sharp LC-37D40U LCD TV. Is it the pixels?

Hi Yabby,

If the dots are very narrow and jump about and you're receiving an analogue signal it could be teletext information. This is normal but is usually hidden off the top of the screen. You need to adjust the picture height to take them off the top.

Regards

Andy
