This not a repairable item, replace it and don't look back.

SOURCE: delta diverted spout is stuck! Can't pull it down

You probably have lime deposits built up which won't allow you to pull it down anymore. Try spraying lime away on it and use an onld toothbrush and work it up in there. If this doesn't work, you can replace the spout with a generic one. The spout should just twist off. Sometimes they can be stubborn. Hopefully this helps.

I have a Delta Tub/Spout Pull Down Diverter that has a pretty persistent drip. The HOT and COLD handles are turned off and seem to be as tight as they can be. After doing some research online I believe...

If your Delta RP17453 Pull-Down Diverter Tub Spout stops dripping after 5 minutes, your ok. If it never stops dripping, you need to replace delta faucet cartridge(s) behind the handle(s). This is were the water turns on and off and stops the water flow to the tub spout.

Delta faucets are some of the easiest to repair, and parts are usually available at any hardware store or home center. If you have a two handle faucet, replace both delta seats and springs and stems. If you have a single handle Delta faucet, replace the entire cartridge.

I have a garden tub w/o a shower attached. However, the fixture in the tub is the Delta pull down diverter (dont know why they would put that in a tub w/o a shower). Anyway, the diverter was pulled down...

Hi,
If it was me... I would replace that spout...
the spout either is threaded on or it has a set screw on the bottom at the back that you loosen and then pull the spout off by pulling straight away from the wall...
Check and see if the spout has the hole for the set screw...if not then twist it counter clockwise and it will turn off...
then repalce the spout with a new one with out the diverter...

When I run water through this tub spout (diverter in down position) I still have water leaking from the showerhead. I have seen water from a tub spout when the shower is on, but not the other way around....

After you turn water off in about 30 secs pull the diverter up and leave for a few minutes This should allow the water left in shower piipe to drain out the spigot

Pull down shower diverted works, but allows bypass into tub

The diverter is supposed to leak a little bit, so it will disengage after you turn off the water. If the water is leaking out a little, that's normal. But if it is really leaking out you may need to replace the entire spout.

Diverter Tub Spout stuck

Its probably just stuck on some lime and mineral deposits. You can try and spray some lime away on it and then try to loosen it. Or you can unscrew the whole spout so you can soak it. If that doesn't work, you can either contact Delta for an exact replacement or you can purchase a generic one.
