It sounds like it has an issue with its skip detection. Any shock to the DVD player will cause it to lose it place with the laser eye reader and start back at the beginning. I would try to see if there is a shock resistance setting for the DVD player or try to gift it some cushion room to help absorb shock.
the problem is that some dvd players only play original dvds an some play mp3 an data disc an etc I think that you have the one that only plays the original dvds
There should be nothing special about playing the different DVDs. Putting in a normal DVD compared to a BluRay should not require you to do anything different.
Look at the front of the DVD player and look for the BluRay logo. If you do not see it on the front of the DVD player then you do not have a BluRay player.
Hi My Name is Vortash you may find the problem is as simple as the DVD laser lens needs cleaning get a cd cleaner disk and try that , check that the dvd you are trying to play is the correct region . Travelling would not have damaged it ' Per 'sey ' but if it had been dropped or knocked during transit without the deck securing or transit screws in then yes it may have been .. hope this helps Regards Vortash
