SOURCE: brother printer mfc-7420 will not print

Manual feed is a by-pass tray (not the paper tray,)
in this particular model it looks like one of hte slots in the front. put a paper in and see if it grabs it.

you should be able to cancel out the job by pushing stop/cancel?
1-check the tray to make sure the paper size is correct
2-make sure it is set for tray not bypass

SOURCE: mp600 pixma printer

I'm not sure if you've already checked this, but this was my issue. I, too, would try to print something and it would make a great deal of clunking noise but would then say that there was no paper and told me to load some. I went to the Canon site and before I actually went through the process of cleaning the print roller, I checked the feed switch button on the display panel. It's right below the ON/OFF button and, what do you know, it was set to feed from a paper cassette instead of the back loading tray. I pushed the button and it's now printing fine. I'm sure we must have accidentally hit the button when we were trying to turn the printer on or off quickly. Hope this does the trick! It's always nice when it's something easily fixed!

SOURCE: brother mfc-7420 printer - manual feed instead of automatic

ok, thank you

you probably had a document that was not using 8.5 x 11 paper or the print settings were the printer to use the manual tray.

thanks adi

SOURCE: Need to replace pickup roller on MFC-7820n.

Well, how to do that I don't know how to explain you, but first of all try to clean it, do it with thinner, this may solve your problem for while, at least until you find a way to remove and change.

SOURCE: FEEDING PROBLEMS FROM PAPER TRAY

Remove left cover (where the USB connection is located);
Remove gear with a spring on it (you may need to unscrew the PCB that partially covers it);
There is a clutch that sticks to the rubber pad behind this gear. You may put a piece of scotch tape towards to a rubber pad, so the plastic from the clutch mechanism wouldn't stick anymore.

Brother MFC-9340CDW cant print double sided.

I had the same problem. I blew the dust out of the printer, cleaned the rollers, and checked for updates....still would jam in duplex mode. I finally got a bright flashlight and watched the paper through the crack between the back cover and case and discovered the paper was getting stuck under the paper tray. I turned the printer on its front and discovered there was a partial sheet of paper stuck in the paper path. It was difficult to get to but when I removed it, the printer started working correctly again in duplex mode. Hope this helps some of you with the same problem.

How do I replace PF kit1 Brother MFC-8460n

The paper feed kit is the pick up rollers and the transfer rollers. You can thake those out clean them and replace them, but unless you are actually having paper feed issues usually just clean the paper tray feed rollers with alcohol and reset the paper feed kit counter if needed.

Hello, I have a Brother MFC-640CW that show a paper jam error message, but no paper jam in the printer. I have inspected the printer and can't find anything, how can I clear the error message, or repair...

You may encounter a paper jam while working with your Brother printer. You need to be cautious while feeding the paper to your printer. Paper jams are often obvious, but you might come across a situation when you do not get any indication that the paper has jammed up the printer. In such cases, you need to open your printer and visually inspect it to search for the jammed paper. If the rollers of your printer are leaving marks on the printouts, then there is a need to clean them. Using chemical cleaners such as benzine, thinner, or alcohol to clean the rollers might prove hazardous to your printer.

My Brother MFC-9840CDW keeps jamming every time I print mailing labels. I've had it four 1.5 years with no trouble. The label gets stuck and I have to pull out the toner tray to fetch it. I also...

hello, sounds like there are many possible solutions for you machine, first with paper jamming, are labels going thru manual feed tray, or paper tray, it might be possible that mp feed roller needs cleaning or replacing. if paper tray, simple would be feed roller, clean or replace, if jams continue with normal paper from paper tray, the problem will be front door, i have yet to be able to repair paper jams when front door assembly fails. as far as colors, both drum and toner can cause this problem, if using 3rd party toner, this will also cause some color problems. sorry no real quick fix for this machine, i've tried.

Paper feed jams. feeds from lower tray, turns 180 deg. then jams. Single sheet feed is fine

while keeping the paper .. ensure that it is properly stacked... fan the paper and ensure that it is not stuck to each other.. also open the printer cover and see if any paper is stuck inside..

Try to open the rear access door ,and clean the paper roller with slightly damp lint free cloth

Brother MFC 7420. New Brother Toner, New Drum, cleaned feed and separator rollers, changed paper, still jamming. Paper stuck around brown fuser roller. What can I do next?

Check whether the fuser rollers are free turning. If the paper is stopped at the ejection roller, the ejection roller needs to be replaced.
