I have an Acer aspire 5738. Since some weeks mi DVD device doesn't work and I don't know where I can download a driver for this device and how to instal it. Thank you.

Hi, it appears that CDW/DVDRAM is only detected in BIOS but in normal windows. This is a known issue from Microsoft eventhough you are using Windows Xp or Vista the CDW/DVDROM is not detected and does not appear in My computer icon. This can be easily fixed by a registry tweaks.

Please click on this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929461/en-us and then delete the upper/lowerfilters which is blocking the CDW/DVDROM to appear on your windows.

Dear Sir,

It is not problem with your hardware,it is problem with your operating system. This happens due to invalid registry entry on the system files,you may clean the registry by using glary utiliy or any other free registry cleaning software,it may solve your problem.If it is not you have to reinstall windows operating system by formatting your system drive.
