Manual to program 15 amp automatic timer - Hardware & Accessories

For the GE SunSmart Self-Adjusting In-Wall timers, you can push on the timer door or open the timer door and press the On/Off button (below the Auto button). This is the Timer over-ride. For the SunSmart 15 Amp plug-in digital timers, you either press an On/off button or press the Manual button several times to cycle through the options (Auto-Off, On, Auto-On, Off) until you reach Off. This is old timer since it still uses batteries.
Replace AAA batteries.
This timer also has preset programs. User cannot change preset programs which is the strangest thing I've ever heard about a timer, except vacation timers. It appears the timer turns on-off 6 times each day for no apparent reason that shows in manual.
Moreover, the timer has very complex instructions, whereas other timers are far easier to program.
Buy another timer.

CLS Q 31 D timer is ordinary 50-60 Hz 24-hour din-rail analog timer; rated 15 amp, operating voltage 230v with power reserve and 30 minute time increments.
15 amp safe max is 12 amp x 230V = 2760 watts. Use line fuse to protect timer from overload. Use contactor for heavy-amp loads and 3-phase loads.

Try removing battery, and then reprogram timer.

Some timers are reset when battery is removed.
Newer digital timers keep programs in memory when battery is removed, but in that case the instruction manual shows steps for resetting timer and deleting programs.

The HB88RC manual does not show steps for deleting programs or resetting timer.

People are writing in with problems about HB88RC.
Problems seem to revolve around MODE button and setting automatic for timer to operate programming.

One guy said his timer skipped over automatic.
Another fellow today reported that timer programs would not work.

So maybe your timer has similar problem.
I'm going to e-mail Intermatic with recent information.
I need clarification on your exact question.
Intermatic generally e-mails back and is concerned with their products and customers.

That being said, let's look at your timer problem.
When you finish programming 1 and 2, press Clock button to exit programming and current time shows on display.
At this point, timer should function.

According to manual:
If you press MODE button once, timer will enter override, and lights will turn on.
Press MODE button again, RDM shows on screen and timer enters random mode and lights turn on-off randomly so it looks like folks are home.
Press MODE again and timer returns to Automatic and programs 1 and 2 should run.

Sylvania SA170 manual shows that timer can automatically turn on lights at sunset time, just enter your phone area code: Timer has to wired first and power on. Manual has long list of instructions starting on page 2.

How to wire timer:
SA170 replaces on-off wall switch that has 2 wires + ground
Timer has 3 wires + no ground wire
Wires that come off switch connect to Timer Blue & Black wires
Timer white wire connects with other white wires in box - if you do not have other white wires, connect to bare ground
If timer doesn't work, switch Blue and Black wires
