Dryer taking long time to dry load
if it's taking to long to dry most likely you have a block somewhere in the dryer or vent line, easiest thing is remove the vent line from the back and see if it drys any better,if so you know there's a block in the line,i use a leaf blower to blow out the line, remove it from the back of dryer stick the leaf blower into the vent line and blow it to the outside, make sure you don't have a cage or anything blocking the outside and check how it's blowing outside before you blow out the line, then after you blow it out look and see if any lint blew out and see if it blows stronger than before,if all is clean you could have a bad cycling t-stat but i would say you have a block somewhere in the dryer or vent line.check the blower wheel and make sure the belt didn't break,on some dryers there isn't a belt switch that stops the dryer from running if the belt broke, next time send the brand name and model number, open the door, hold in the door switch and start it to see if drum is turning.
thanks for info - can this be repaired or is it just easier to replace the dryer ?
WELL JUST REPLACING IT IS MUCH EASIER OF COURSE
I guess what I meant to ask, what would be more cost effective ? Sorry about that -
