SOURCE: Remote volume control for Sharp Aquos 42inch LCD not working

User 'rapolley' is absolutely right. One can cycle through the functions to access different options, ie. 'TV', 'Audio', 'DVD', etc. I stumbled upon this solution when I thought my 'Menu' button wasn't working. All I had to do is cycle through the 'Functions' and choose 'Menu' once I get to 'TV'. Thanks!

SOURCE: Program Comcast remote to operate Samsung 46"LCD

The answer depends whether its a Comcast DVR Remote or a regular one. The DVR codes are 4 digit -- the others are 5 digit. I got 0060 to work for my DVR remote.

Can't program comcast remote to yamaha yas-101

The only thing i was able to do was to use this link and make the remote learn the functions by following the instructions on the Yamaha web site for the sound bar to AUX. YAS 101
http://faq.yamaha.com/us/en/article/audio-visual/digital-sound-projector/yas-101/7598/6609/

I then used the instructions below to volume lock the aux so that i did not have to switch back and forth from cable to aux to adjust volume and change channels
Setting Global Volume Lock
Global Volume Lock will force the volume and mute keys to be controlled by one device.
  1. Press and hold the "Setup" key until a device key blinks twice.
  2. Type in the code 993. A device key should blink twice.
  3. Press and release the device key for the device you want the volume locked to.
  4. You will get two blinks if the lock is successful.

I have a Vizio 210 soundbar and the remote control is junk! I want the code the woeks on my Comcast universal remote control.

After much research, here is a step-by-step for getting your Vizio Soundbar to work with the Comcast remote using EFC codes (mine is the newer charcoal grey one, works great!)

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 11144 (2 blinks)

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00169 - Vol Up - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00168 - Vol Down - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00037 - Mute - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00165 - Power - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00164 - Input - Should get 2 blinks

These are optional, I didn't use them:

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00036 - <button to use for TVOL> - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00101 - <button to use for TSHD> - Should get 2 blinks

Then set the volume control on the remote and other settings according to the Remote's manual.

ENJOY!! Hope this helps someone...

Try the help menu in the comcast remote. I believe you have to program it again for the LG to work the sound.

I have cable tv with comcast and i had to change tv brand is orion and I cant get comcast remote to work the volume control or turn off the tv.

You need to go to the Comcast website, since it is their remote, and check the code listing to learn if your new set is even supported; they often aren't.

Comcast remote

The volume keys should be working by default, but you may have volume punch through turned on (meaning the remote is sending signals for TV or CABLE volume function no matter what mode you are actually on). To unlock volume control for AUX mode, do the following:
1. Press and release AUX
2. Press and hold SETUP until the remote blinks twice
3. Type 993
4. Press and release VOL-
The remote should blink four times to confirm unlock.

DTV remote code

KZXten,

Don't know if this will help but I have Comcast as my cable TV provider and am using a Motorola DCT-6200 STB and the remote Comcast provides with the STB. To get my Panasonic TV/VCR combo (PVQ-2510A) to work with the Comcast remote I had to do the following:

1) Do the remote code search in AUX mode (or VCR or DVD mode if your remote has that button instead) using the instructions for searching ing remote codes. I had to toggle back and forth between AUX and POWER on the remote until the TV turned off. I saved that code on the remote, but it only controlled the power on the TV, not the volume control.

2) Next I did the remote code search using the TV button on the remote and toggled between the TV button and the volume control until the volume +/- bar appeared on the screen. I saved that code too.

I use the AUX button to turn the TV on and off. Once the TV is on the volume control on the remote operates the TV volume normally. I still need to toggle between CABLE and AUX depending on which device I'm controlling, the cable Set Top Box (STB) or the TV. You may have to experiment some to get it to work correctly.

Here's a link to the remotes Comcast is providing in my area.
