SOURCE: How to Change light bulb (yes, really...)

If yours is the same as the model 04890 that I looked up on the net, you will unscrew the center nut of the light fixture being carefull to not let the fixture drop to the floor. Once you have the center piece off you will be able to unscrew the bulbs and install new ones. Be carefull and be sure power is off before you do this.

SOURCE: hampton bay ceiling fan , model # 55295

I had the exact same problem. To solve it, I had a friend hold the area of the fan that the globe screws into. I wore rubber dish gloves to get a good grip and pushed up slightly on the globe as I turned counter-clockwise. My friend held the other part and turned clockwise a little as well. It took a lot of pressure for it to finally come loose and then we just turned it about another 90 degrees and the globe slips right out of the groove.

I couldn't believe how hard this was to do.

At the top of the pull chain there is a metal piece; this is threaded on a bolt. Unscrew the metal piece and lower the globe to expose the bulbs then remove and replace the bulb(s). I recommend flourescents as they are more economical, run cooler and last linger than incandescents (regular bulbs).

SOURCE: question about light bulb problem in ceiling fan

Check wiring @ ceiling. Should b a black, white, green & red wire coming frm fan. Green is ground. Black & Red is power. White is neutral. Black provides power to fan, red provides lat power 4 lights. Remove light assembly, blue wire provides power. B sure 2 turn off power 2 fan b 4 working on it w/switch & breaker. Maybe lose wire connection or pinched wire grounding out. Fans require vibration proof bulbs regular bulb elements will break after short time use. Fan bulbs have larger filiments inside bulb.

Where is ceiling fan watt governor

I have no idea of what your are talking about. I have seen this when the newer style lilght bulbs are installed with an older style dimmer. Try regular light bulbs and see if it solves the blinking problem.

I just replaced my bulbs on my ceiling fan light fixture with the compact flourescent bulbs 13 watt to replace the regular 60 watt bulbs but they are flickering now. Could there be a problem with wiring...

Your remote control I would assume includes a dimmer for the light. CFL bulbs are not compatible with dimmers. If it has a dimmer, you must use incandescent bulbs.

I am trying to install a Tiffany-style 6-light Flush Rail Fixture, but th wiring in the apartment is old, but th problem is that in the ceiling is a solid round looking ''outlet box'' but in th instruction...

An octagon box should have the same screw spacing as a round box, however, with very old electrical fixtures, all bets are off when it comes to standard sizes. More important than that though is this: Was there a fan there before or are you replacing a light fixture? If it is a light fixture, you need to make sure that the box is sufficient to hold a fan. The weight is significantly higher than most lights and the movement makes it worse. If it was a light, there are fan boxes you can get to retrofit it so that it will be safe.

Not sure about model no. Ceiling light inaccessible! Why?

Drove over to Home Depot, where lots of Hampton Bay fans are sold. They showed me the features that were close to my fan, including the method of replacing ceiling light bulbs.
