Tellys 2 years old at most reset it, checked for update also ran diagnostics to no prevail
You could always check the capacitors. If you open the back of the television which is normally done by taking a few screws out ( I am not liable for any damage that may happen) you'll notice some of the boards that there are battery shaped objects. These are the capacitors. If they are fried and the top will be bulging like an old-style tin of popcorn being popped, otherwise it will be flat which means that it is still good.
SOURCE: is my picture tube going?
Most proj TV's of that type have 3 Picture tubes Red, Green and Blue. It's not likely that all 3 went bad at the same time in the same manner. So I believe you have a circuit problem, probably in the power supply stages, possibly a bad solder joint.
Hope that helps...

SOURCE: Sharp LC-46SB54U Keeps losing picture intermittantly
i believe your tv is getting overheated, possibly from dust getting onto the electronic components inside. or the inverter board for the lcd panel inside is going bad, alot of times it is the capacitors on the lcd inverter board going bad.
SOURCE: I own a Mitsubishi HD 1080 series HD TV;
I believe it is going to be a major repair and I would hesitate to invest much money into it. I think the age of this set is older than 5 years. The VS model series were manufactures before the WS model series and they have been around for 8 years or so. Never the less, parts availability is getting tougher. If your pain thresh hold is 300.00 or 400.00
go for it. If not, check out new sets.
Hope this helps,
