Why is my phone showing active on Facebook messenger when I only looked at the weather channel, iPhone 5

The icon comes back doesn't it?I have been tapping icons on my iPhone. When I tap the icon disappears and it opens so you can work in it. When I finish I push the home button and the icon is in place. I tried the weather channel and Audible.

Marie, are you talking about the Text Messenger or Facebook Messenger? If it is the Text Messenger, try going to Settings -> Notifications -> Message. Once there, check if the "Notification Sound" is shown as set to "None". If so, click there and chose the ding you want. update ur fb messemger or uninstall it and then re-install again

- there are some core apps belonging to the iOS system and cannot be deleted like 'clock', 'calendar', 'contacts', 'facebook' etc.

hmmm i'm not understanding you question so i'll try to answer best way i know how...
if you have an iphone or any other smart phone you should have an icon for facebook app on your home screen. unless you have a phone that lets you hide apps and such, if you don't see the icon for it you probably don't have it on your phone.
but to clarify.... your facebook account is not linked to your AT&T account. Meaning that if you looked at your AT&T bill it won't show you that you have facebook as one of your charges like you would see if you made a long distance call or something. Instead Facebook, twitter, google+, netflix, instagram, hulu, and etc are all different accounts that uses data from your AT&T if you have those apps installed on your phone. hope this helps.

This iphone repair is not possible, iphone 3g software is really old. whatsapp and facebook dont support that software version so I dont think it is possible

You have a permissions problem with some apps. Try a total shut down and restart of the iPhone.

If that wont fix it you need to restore the iPhone with iTunes.
